A modular storage system may be provided including a plurality of cabinet units that may fixedly attach to each other. A locking mechanism including a locking foot and locking element may be provided for connecting multiple cabinets in a modular cabinet assembly. Some embodiments may include a drawer and secondary work surface assembly for a shelf capable of use in a cabinet.
