    Abstract: A fuel pump assembly is designed for mounting in the interior of a vehicle fuel tank. The assembly includes a reserve tank and a fuel pump mounted within the reserve tank with a noise dampening cylindrical intermediate layer. An intake chamber is formed by a filter screen which is mounted in the reserve tank surroundng the inlet of the fuel pump. A vent channel is provided bypassing the intermediate layers and connecting the intake chamber with a vent conduit for venting gases from the intake chamber of the fuel pump.

    Abstract: An arrangement is disclosed for closing the inlet pipe of a container, such as the fuel tank of a motor vehicle. The arrangement includes a cap having a handle portion as well as a fastening and sealing portion. The handle portion is connected to the fastening and sealing portion by a releasable clip connector which becomes disengaged when excessive forces are applied to the handle portion. In addition to or instead of this arrangement, the free end of the inlet pipe and at least the fastening and sealing portion of the cap are surrounded by a protective collar.
