  • Patent number: 5267640
Abstract: A transfer station between a scraper-chain face conveyor and a scraper-chain roadway conveyor in a mine working has a frame for guiding the scraper-chain assemblies of the conveyor so that material discharges from the face conveyor to the roadway conveyor. The frame has a pair of spaced-apart side walls with identical connecting blocks fitted to their exteriors. The connecting blocks have pockets for receiving couplers and depressions which form bearing half-shells for a support for a drum around which the scraper-chain assembly of the roadway conveyor passes. The connecting blocks on each side wall can connect with connecting blocks of the drum support or with connecting blocks on an endmost ramp pan of the roadway conveyor so that the pan and the drum support can be interchanged in position.

  • Patent number: 4512459
Abstract: A guide assembly for a curved section of a scraper-chain conveyor comprises a housing and two pulley wheels which are rotatably mounted within the housing. The pulley wheels constitute means for guiding the scrapers of a scraper assembly around the curved section. Each of the pulley wheels has an inner wheel part and a two-part scraper-engaging rim detachably connected to its inner wheel part.

  • Patent number: 4389072
Abstract: A mineral mining installation comprises a longwall conveyor, a plough movable to and fro along a guide fixed to the face side of the longwall conveyor, and a drive station at one end of the longwall conveyor. The drive station includes a drive frame supporting drive means for driving the longwall conveyor. A support beam is provided at the goaf side of the drive station. The support beam extends substantially parallel to the drive frame. A floor plate extends beneath the drive frame. The goaf-side end portion of the floor plate is supported on the support beam by means of a lifting device, whereby the goaf-side end portion of the floor plate can be moved up and down relative to the support beam by the lifting device.

  • Patent number: 4253344
Abstract: A sprocket drum assembly is constituted by two complementary, radially-separable sprocket drum assembly parts. The assembly comprises a hollow, cylindrical drum and a sprocket wheel having an odd number of sprocket teeth. The two assembly parts meet along two surfaces. The inner edges of at least those portions of said surfaces associated with the drum lie in a diametrical plane of the assembly. Each of the outer edges of those portions of said surfaces associated with the sprocket wheel lie between a respective pair of sprocket teeth.

  • Patent number: 4250989
Abstract: A curved section and guide assembly is provided for a scraper-chain conveyor. The assembly comprises a curved conveyor section and a guide for guiding the scraper assembly of the conveyor round the curve. The curved conveyor section has a curved inner wall, a curved outer wall and a floor panel which define upper and lower runs for the scraper assembly which is constituted by a chain and a plurality of scrapers secured thereto. The guide is constituted by two pulley wheels which are independently rotatably mounted on a vertical axle extending upwardly from a base plate arranged beneath the pulley wheels. A cover plate is arranged above the pulley wheels. The pulley wheels extend through the inner wall of the curved conveyor section, both the base plate and the cover plate being attached to said inner wall. Both the floor panel and the cover plate extend towards the axle. The upper end of the axle is supported by a carrier plate which extends over the cover plate and is detachably connected thereto.
