Publication number: 20050143202Abstract: A game apparatus for catching and throwing a projectile. The apparatus includes a handle, and a basket attached to the handle for catching and throwing the projectile. The basket includes spaced apart retaining members configured to yield sufficiently to allow the projectile to pass between them when the projectile is received during a catch, and further configured to retain the projectile after the catch. The basket portion also includes a support structure configured to support the projectile after the projectile passes between the retaining members. A primary aperture is disposed at an end of the basket portion substantially opposite the handle, and is dimensioned to allow the projectile to pass through and exit the basket during a throw.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 31, 2003Publication date: June 30, 2005Inventors: Boguslaw Orlowski, David Fitzgerald

Patent number: 6908359Abstract: A water skipping toy which has the desired characteristics of a few, simple, low cost parts that are easily produced using injection molding and minimal assembly time. The preferred embodiment comprises two substantially identical convex plastic discs each having an annular flange recessed from the outer perimeter of the disc. The flange of one of the discs is taller and has a slightly larger diameter than the flange of the other disc so that the two flanges are radially juxtaposed when the two discs are joined together. The discs may be secured together by the press fit engagement of the two annular flanges or the flanges may be glued to each other by a common adhesive along contiguous radial surfaces of the flanges. The discs create an air pocket between them which makes the toy lighter and buoyant. The third component of the preferred embodiment comprises a relatively soft rubber ring which encircles the outer radial edges of the discs to provide a safety barrier.Type: GrantFiled: November 27, 2002Date of Patent: June 21, 2005Assignee: Chapman-Walters Intercoastal Corp.Inventor: Boguslaw Orlowski

Patent number: 6852117Abstract: A medical knife assembly includes an outer clamp assembly and an inner clamp blade assembly having a cutting blade assembly. The inner and outer clamp assemblies are pivotally connected at about their proximate ends so they may be squeezed together with one hand to affect a novel method of clamping and cutting in a single motion operation. A set of shear pins holds the component parts of the inner and outer assemblies together in a ready position that enables a user to properly position the knife assembly for severing an umbilical cord at the time of birth. Once the umbilical cord is severed, the component parts of the inner and outer assemblies separate providing independent clamps, one staying with an infant segment of the umbilical cord and one staying with a maternal segment of the umbilical cord.Type: GrantFiled: August 21, 2002Date of Patent: February 8, 2005Assignee: Medical Device Group, Inc.Inventor: Boguslaw Orlowski
