Auxiliary display area has a smaller length than the main display area in row direction. Each auxiliary display area includes first display area, and non-rectangular display area having curved edge. First boundary is between each non-rectangular display area and first display area. Second boundary is between each non-rectangular display area and main display area. Each sector-shaped region has a vertex that is a center of circle corresponding to curved edge. Each sector-shaped region has attenuation transition zone having smaller width than radius of sector-shaped region. Width of attenuation transition zone adjacent to first boundary and width of attenuation transition zone adjacent to second boundary are smaller than width of attenuation transition zone of other sector-shaped regions.

    Abstract: A method to improve display performance at edges of a circular display screen is provided. The method comprises determining an edge area and a central area of the circular display screen, the edge area surrounding the central area; along a direction from a geometric center of the circular display screen to the edge area of the circular display screen, dividing the edge area into n display regions each having a different luminance-level, where n is a positive integer larger than 1; and according to luminance of pixels in the central area and the luminance-level of each of the n display regions, adjusting the luminance of the pixels in each of the n display regions to corresponding target luminance. Along the direction from the geometric center to the edge area of the circular display screen, the corresponding target luminance of the pixels in the n display regions sequentially decreases.

In a case that the first display panel and the second display panel are in a folded state, each of the sub-pixels on one display panel is used for detecting optical information of a corresponding sub-pixel on the other display panel, to perform optical compensation on the sub-pixel. Since optical information detection and image compensation are performed in a case that the foldable display panel is in the folded state, the use of the foldable display panel is not affected.
