  • Patent number: 9408015
Abstract: Systems and apparatuses are provided for negating the degradation effects of fundamental coupling between at least two near field communication (NFC) enabled devices, at least one of which can receive frequency modulation (FM) signals. Due to the fundamental coupling, strong NFC signals can mix with blocking signals associated with a desired/tuned-to FM frequency causing degradation in FM receiver performance. By utilizing a notch filter at the front end of the FM receiver, the degradation in FM receiver performance caused by the fundamental coupling phenomenon can be avoided.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 24, 2013
Date of Patent: August 2, 2016
    Assignee: Broadcom Corporation
Inventors: Shahla Khorram, Fazal Haq, Thomas Francis Baker, Bojko Frederik Marholev, Razieh Roufoogaran

  • Patent number: 7944659
Abstract: An ESD protection circuit for a switch coupled to high-speed signaling pins of an integrated circuit includes a first string of clamping elements and a second string of clamping elements. The first string of clamping elements has a collective capacitance less than the capacitance of a single clamping element. The first string of clamping elements is operably coupled to the drain and source of the transistor and conducts when a first polarity ESD voltage is applied to the high-speed pins. The second string of clamping elements has a collective capacitance less than the capacitance of one clamping element. The second string of clamping elements is operably coupled to the drain and source of the transistor and conducts when a second polarity ESD voltage is applied to the high speed signaling pins.
