  • Publication number: 20220381625
Abstract: Disclosed are a temperature measurement method using the fluorescence characteristic of an optical material having temperature dependence and a temperature sensor technology using the same. According to the present disclosure, the temperature measurement technology using the fluorescence signal intensity ratio has a self-compensation function to reduce optical signal noise caused by fluctuations in light source output and optical waveguide loss, and uses two fluorescence signals with a strong fluorescence signal intensity to solve the existing disadvantage of generating a lot of noise due to a low fluorescence signal.

  • Patent number: 10598931
Abstract: Disclosed are a laser light source device for a head-up display and a head-up display system using the same, the laser light source device for the head-up display including a plurality of light sources which emit laser light and a condensing unit which condenses the laser light emitted from the light sources, is connected to an image forming unit that generates an image for displaying information on a vehicle operation using the laser light, and provides the condensed laser light to the image forming unit. The laser light source device for the head-up display according to the present disclosure and the head-up display system using the same have advantages that optical alignment is not easily destroyed even under harsh operating environment such as a vehicle where considerable vibration and temperature change are introduced, because the whole part of the condensing unit is optically connected by the optical fibers with a high stability on the contrary to a conventional bulk-optic based system.

  • Patent number: 10473492
Abstract: The disclosure relates to an optical characteristic measurement system including at least: a light source unit which outputs an input beam of a specific wavelength; a sensing unit which generates a signal beam by using a sensor whose optical characteristic is affected by an external environment condition; and a measuring unit which derives varied physical amount by using the signal beam delivered from the sensing unit, wherein the measuring unit includes: an optical coupler which distributes the signal beam into the two optical paths; and an interrogation optical fiber which is arranged on one of the paths on which the signal beam travels. The interrogation optical fiber has a linear light absorption characteristic in the specific wavelength range, and the light intensity of the signal beam is measured to detect a wavelength of the signal beam delivered from the sensing unit, and finally derive the physical amount applied from outside.

  • Patent number: 9958603
Abstract: An optical fiber for an optical fiber sensor and a chemical sensor using the same are disclosed. The optical fiber includes a core area, and a suspended cladding area formed around the core area and having at least one cladding hole. The core area has at least one core hole for reducing an effective refractive index of the core area. The optical fiber and the chemical sensor using the same may have improved measurement sensitivity by increasing an evanescent field fraction of existing suspended core fibers.
