A user equipment PoC box is provided, and a corresponding network PoC box is also provided. A transport mechanism is defined and provided by which to communicate a PoC media burst that is delivered to a PoC box and stored thereat. Control functionality is provided by which to control disposition of the media burst, such as to make notification of a delivered media burst or to dispose of the media burst when no longer needed, is further provided.

A listing of specific network identifiers is stored at the electronic storage element. And, a listing indicia identifier is also stored at the electronic storage element. The listing indicia identifier is configured to identify formatting of the specific network identifiers. Formatting of the information permits compliance with 3GPP TS 31.102 [13] that requires that at least ten WSID entries to be storable at a WSID list.

Abstract: Apparatus, and an associated method, for facilitating call connection with a selected service center from a mobile node. A mobile node is provided with short dialing codes used in a network with which the mobile node is registered by SMS messages sent thereto, such as pursuant to registration procedures. Values of the short dialing codes downloaded to the mobile node are stored at a storage location, such as at a SIM card, indexed together with corresponding codes normally used by a user of the mobile nodes, such as the codes used in the home network of the mobile node. When a user places a call to a service center, the stored values are retrieved, and transposed, if needed, to ensure better that the call to the selected service center is successfully completed.
