Abstract: An image display device and an image display method, in which the display position of an image frame on a display screen changes in order to enhance the image quality, are provided. The image display device according to the exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes a decoder that decodes an input image signal; and a frame display controller which alternately outputs the decoded input image signal and an image signal obtained by delaying the decoded input image signal by a predetermined number of lines of one frame. The display position of the image frame on the display screen may change so that the image quality of a low-resolution image or an image having excessive noise is enhanced.

Abstract: A video processing apparatus and method are provided where a video processor processes an image formed by a plurality of pixels having position data on a display panel to be displayed in the display panel, and a compensation factor corresponding to a distance from a center of the display panel to a pixel is stored for each pixel. A compensation factor extractor extracts the compensation factor corresponding to the pixel from storage, based on the position data of the pixel, and a compensator compensates brightness of each pixel based on the extracted compensation factor. The video processing apparatus and method provide for display of video images with adequate brightness depending on the displaying and viewing positions.

Abstract: A broadcasting receiving/transmitting device for encoding a broadcasting signal in an encoding format and transmitting it to an external device by wireless transmission is provided which includes a broadcasting signal processor for encoding the broadcasting signal according to the encoding format and outputting it, a wireless module for transmitting the broadcasting signal encoded through the broadcasting signal processor to the external device by wireless transmission, and a controller for detecting EPG information from the broadcasting signal, generating an EPG menu data based on the detected EPG information and controlling the broadcasting signal processor so as to encode at least one of the EPG menu data and the broadcasting signal according to the encoding format to thereby be transmitted to the external device via the wireless module of the transmitting side.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of searching a wireless channel by searching unused wireless channels. A list of the searched unused wireless channels is stored. A multimedia signal transmitted and received through one of the unused wireless channels. Thus, a wireless channel searching method, a wireless transmitting/receiving system and a wireless transmitting apparatus of the present invention, quickly change a wireless transmitting channel into other usable channels, if interference occurs in a wireless transmitting channel.

Abstract: A wireless communication system and method. The wireless communication system includes a transmission device and a reception device. The transmission device includes a wireless communication part connected to the reception device by wireless, a storage part for storing a first information set when the wireless connection is off and a second information set when the wireless connection is on, a receiver for receiving a control signal requesting a certain function output from a user interface, when the wireless connection is off, and a controller for performing a function corresponding to the received control signal if the control signal is received from the user interface when the wireless connection is off, and for controlling the storage part to store the first information that is set according to the performed function. When the wireless connection is turned off, the transmission device performs functions as a set-top box, and the auto program function is executed more rapidly.

Abstract: A frame transmission method performed by a transmitting end in a video reproduction system having the transmitting end for wirelessly transmitting frames and a receiving end for receiving the frames transmitted from the transmitting end and reproducing a video signal. The transmitting end receives information about a state of a wireless environment from the receiving end, determines the frames to be transmitted to the receiving end in consideration of the received information about the wireless environment state, and transmits the determined frames to the receiving end. The receiving end measures the state of the wireless environment by judging whether an error exists in the received frames and transmits the measured state of the wireless environment to the transmitting end. Accordingly, different frames can be transmitted according to the state of the wireless environment.

Abstract: In a method of wirelessly transmitting an audio and/or video input signal having a standard definition (SD), the input signal is converted to a signal having a high definition (HD) and noise is removed from the converted signal. High definition encoding is performed to the noise-free signal and the encoded signal is wirelessly transmitted. Accordingly, image deterioration can be reduced by eliminating the noise before encoding the input signal. In addition, the HD encoding is performed instead of the SD encoding to reduce image degradation.

Abstract: A wireless communication system having a program upgrade function and a method thereof. The wireless communication system includes a transmitter to download a common upgrade program and a transmitter side upgrade program from a memory card which stores the common upgrade program, the transmitter side upgrade program and a receiver side upgrade program, and to transmit the common upgrade program and the receiver side program over a wireless channel, and a receiver to receive and store the common upgrade program and the receiver side upgrade program that are transmitted over the wireless channel. The transmitter and receiver can upgrade programs by employing only one memory card and a wireless channel.

Abstract: A communication apparatus that communicates with an external apparatus using an I2C bus, the communication apparatus having a microprocessor to process data received in response to an interrupt activation signal, a first reception unit to receive data transmitted from the external apparatus through the I2C bus and temporarily store the data until the data becomes a predetermined unit, and a second reception unit to generate the interrupt activation signal and to transmit the data of the predetermined unit to the microprocessor.

Abstract: An apparatus and method of protecting content from a third party in a communication system including a wired section and a wireless section. The content transferred through the wired section is scrambled separately from a transfer through the wireless section. A controller of a sending end determines scrambling algorithms and a scrambling order to be used in the wired section, and provides related information to a controller of a receiving end. The sending end scrambles the content according to the scrambling algorithms and order. The receiving end descrambles the content by use of the provided related information.
