  • Patent number: 11705075
Abstract: A display device includes a display panel, a first memory, and a degradation compensator. The first memory device stores stress data including degradation values representing a degradation degree of each of the blocks in the display panel. The degradation compensator loads the stress data from the first memory device, updates the stress data based on current input data and a maximum degradation value, updates the maximum degradation value based on degradation values included in the updated stress data, and generate compensated data by compensating for the current input data based on the updated stress data. The degradation compensator determines whether a first degradation value included in the stress data is normal by comparing the first degradation value with the maximum degradation value, and updates the first degradation value based on at least one adjacent degradation value adjacent to the first degradation value, when the first degradation value is abnormal.

  • Patent number: 10319328
Abstract: A display device and method is provided that permits selection of a first lookup table or a second lookup table to operate the data driver at respectively different temperatures to prevent heat from damaging the display device. The display device includes a detector which detects the number of toggles in which the amount of change in gray values of successive pixels driven by the same data line in one frame is equal to or greater than a reference gray change amount. A comparator compares the number of toggles detected by the detector with a reference number of toggles, and a lookup table selector which selects any one of a first lookup table and a second lookup table based on the comparison result of the comparator and provides the selected first lookup table or second lookup table to a data driver.

  • Patent number: 10127869
Abstract: A timing controller for a display apparatus includes a polarity comparison part and a compensation part. The polarity comparison part compares a first polarity of a first data voltage with a second polarity of a second data voltage, the first data voltage corresponding to a first pixel in a first frame and generated based on a first gamma voltage, the second data voltage corresponding to the first pixel in a second frame and generated based on a second gamma voltage. The compensation part compensates the second data voltage based on a first look-up table, if the first polarity is the same as the second polarity, and compensates the second data voltage based on a second look-up table, if the first polarity is different from the second polarity.
