Abstract: An apparatus includes a first portion having a first housing, an electronics assembly disposed within the first housing, and a wheel assembly rotatably coupled to a first end portion of the first housing. The wheel assembly includes a wheel configured to rotate in response to being moved along a surface, and a magnetic member operably coupled to the wheel and configured to change a magnetic field in response to the rotation of the wheel. The electronics assembly is configured to determine a measurement associated with the surface based on the change in the magnetic field. The second portion includes a second housing having a first end portion configured to removably couple to a second end portion of the first housing, and a second end portion configured to at least partially house at least one of a writing instrument or an output instrument.

Abstract: A method for adaptively allocating resources of an uplink control channel according to a system situation is disclosed. If a base station (BS) recognizes the system situation, establishes control information for resource allocation, and transmits the control information to a mobile station (MS), the mobile station (MS) allocates resources for transmitting uplink control information using a specific block or a specific resource distribution method according to the corresponding control information. The system situation may be changed according to the number of users contained in the BS's coverage or the usage of a multi-antenna. The variation of the system situation is actively reflected so that the uplink channel resources can be effectively used.

Abstract: A method for providing precoding weights for data symbols of data control subframes includes generating a downlink frame having control subframes which individually correspond to one of a plurality of downlink data subframes, and inserting weight information into each of the control subframes, such that the weight information is to be applied to data symbols present in the corresponding one of the data subframes. The method further includes transmitting the control subframes and the inserted weight information to a receiving device.

Abstract: A system and a method for providing a secured transmission through an authenticated encryption for each ONU in downlink transmission of an OLT in GPON are provided. The GPON system includes an OLT for generating a GTC downlink frame by receiving data from an external service provider and ONUs for receiving the GTC downlink frame from the OLT and processing the received GTC downlink frame. The OLT performs the authenticated encryption for the generated GTC downlink frame according to the ONU by including an authentication generator and the ONU determines whether the GTC downlink frame is allowed to be processed or not by checking the authentication of the received GTC downlink frame through an authentication checker.

Abstract: Disclosed is a pH-sensitive block copolymer obtained by copolymerization of: (a) a polyethylene glycol compound (A); and (b) at least one poly(amino acid) compound selected from the group consisting of a poly(?-amino ester) and poly(amido amine) or a copolymer thereof (B). A method for preparing the same block copolymer, and a polymer micelle type drug composition comprising the pH-sensitive block copolymer and a physiologically active substance that can be encapsulated with the block copolymer are also disclosed. The pH-sensitive block copolymer is obtained by polymerization of a hydrophilic polyethylene glycol compound with a pH-sensitive biodegradable poly(amino acid) compound. Therefore, the pH-sensitive block copolymer can form a micelle structure due to its amphiphilicity and ionization characteristics depending on pH variations, and thus can be used as drug carrier for target-directed drug delivery depending on pH variations in the body.

Abstract: Provided is a method for setting a security channel between an OLT and at least one ONU in an EPON. In detail, a channel is generated by which the OLT makes a reciprocal security capability agreement with the ONU that wants to set a security channel in a discovery interval and then automatically registers the ONU with the security capability agreement. The security channel is set by which the OLT distributes an encryption key for the security with the ONU completed with the security capability agreement. A renewal point of the encryption key is shared by transmitting a message indicative of a time to change the encryption key between the OLT and the ONU both completed with the encryption key distribution.

Abstract: Provided is a method for providing quality of service (QoS) in a network including multiple nodes using an address system and an address resolution protocol (ARP). The method includes, at a current node, receiving a service request packet from a previous node using the address system and the ARP, checking whether the service request packet includes QoS request information, and determining whether the current node is capable of satisfying the QoS request. If the determination is affirmative, the current node transmits the service request packet with the QoS request information to a next node using the address system and the ARP. If the current node receives a reply packet from the next node, the current node determines whether the reply packet satisfies the QoS request. If the determination is affirmative, the reply packet including an address value of the current node is transmitted to the previous node.

Abstract: The present invention provides a device and method for allocating a bandwidth to a plurality of optical network units (ONUs) for transmitting an uplink frame in the EPON. The bandwidth allocation device includes a plurality of optical network units and an optical line terminal (OLT). The optical network units classify uplink data to be transmitted to an optical line terminal according to a predetermined priority, and transmit the classified uplink data by receiving an allocated bandwidth according to each class from the optical line terminal. The optical line terminal preferentially distributes a predetermined bandwidth for transmitting uplink frames of a highest priority class to the optical network units and then dynamically distributes a remained bandwidth form transmitting the uplink frames for remained classes.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for managing traffic using a VID in EPON are provided. The apparatus includes a MAC lookup table, a service classification policy table, a service control policy table, a MAC lookup unit, a first and second classification module, a VID learning unit and a first and second service control module. The apparatus classifies all packets of up/downlink transmission flow using a VID into a VID unit, through the first and second classification modules and manages traffic thereof according to the parameters thereof through the first and second service control modules. Accordingly, a large amount of traffic for numerous subscribers and services thereof, which was cannot be processed by the limitation on embodying a typical switch or router, can be processed according to the present invention.

Abstract: The present apparatus classifies the network system into a forwarding plane and a control plane, arranges a service combination controller at the control plane, arranges a service connection agent at the forwarding plane, and defines an application program and a binary code of a network processor as a component for each service. Therefore, if a new service addition request occurs in the system, the service combination controller transmits a service addition message to the service connection agent of the forwarding plane, and the service connection agent performs a binding process between the pre-defined functional component and the binary code of a network processor. If a new service request associated with a device including a specific network service occurs, only the new service function is added to a common platform, such that the resultant system can be made commercially available, resulting in reduction of a product development time.

Abstract: A method for implementing a redundant structure of an ATCA system via a base interface of a network system based on an ATCA standard, and the ATCA system for use in the same are disclosed. Each of routing protocol shelves and LI shelves includes two ports connected to two IPC paths provided from the base interface, such that a representative IP address is assigned to a single port to be used, performs IPC communication using the representative IP address. If a port error or link-down state occurs, the representative IP address is assigned to the other port, resulting in the implementation of stable IPC communication. If the port error or link-down state occurs in an active-mode ShMC shelf, an IPC path passing through a standby-mode ShMC shelf is provided.
