  • Publication number: 20090072905
Abstract: There is provided a variable gain amplifier that is implemented with a CMOS device and has wide band variation and wide bandwidth by a predetermined exponential function. A variable gain amplifier having wide gain variation and wide bandwidth according to an aspect of the invention may include: a differential amplification section differentially amplifying an input signal according to a gain adjustment signal; and a gain adjustment section supplying the gain adjustment signal on the basis of an approximated exponential function determined according to a predetermined bias current, and adjusting a gain of the differential amplification section.

  • Patent number: 7400048
Abstract: A void-free circuit board and a semiconductor package having the same includes a protective layer covering and protecting an electrode pattern formed on an upper surface of a substrate. The protective layer is applied around a solder ball provided on the electrode pattern except on an immediate vicinity of the solder ball to form an opening. The semiconductor package also includes at least one gap compensation part comprising a protrusion that comes in contact with an underfill material injected to the opening before the electrode pattern. The protrusion has a thickness substantially the same as that of a portion of the electrode pattern exposed in the opening. This prevents voids with air captured therein due to non-uniform capillary action during injection of the underfill material.

  • Patent number: 6603656
Abstract: A stand device in a wireless LAN adapter is provided. The stand device includes a receptacle defined by a base plate and side extensions, a support unit formed on the base plate, a stand, and a holding unit coupled to the stand and supported bu the support unit. The stand is rotatably connected to the holding unit. A plurality of protrusions formed on the holding unit are engaged with respective grooves formed on support unit in order to maintain the rotation angle of the holding unit and the stand with respect to the support unit and the adapter. An elastic member elastically coupling the holding unit to the support unit is disposed between the holding unit and the support unit. The elastic member does not rotate about the adapter and the support unit while the stand and the holding unit rotates about the elastic member, support unit, and the adapter.

  • Patent number: 5961648
Abstract: A computer having a monitor driving device for controlling video display turn-on time includes a power supply, a computer circuit, a monitor which may be integrated with the computer in one body, and a preheating controller. The monitor driving device for controlling video display time can reduce a time required for displaying a video image again without influencing the life span of a cathode ray tube when power is applied to use the monitor again after previously cutting off the power supplied to the monitor to reduce power consumption by the monitor which may be integrated with the computer in one body.

  • Patent number: 5948077
Abstract: An identification system for identifying plug-in or modular type peripheral devices adopted in a portable computer through one module bay is described. The identification system includes a voltage divider provided at the peripheral device. This voltage divider is connected to a signal line for supplying specific voltage level with the portable computer through a connector. Also, this signal line is coupled with a resistor which generates a reference voltage. An analog-to-digital converter is provided for converting voltage level produced at the signal line into the corresponding digital value. This digital value is supplied with the computer system to determine whether the digital value corresponds to a preset value designated to a specific peripheral device. To this end, a ROM BIOS stores a plurality of identification data corresponding to each digital value of the A/D converter.
