  • Patent number: 4366957
Abstract: An upright rearwardly inclined game-piece receiving panel is carried by a panel receiving socket in a base and is movable to a vertical position by a biasing spring acting on the socket. Game-pieces applied to the panel are ejected therefrom upon the expiration of a predetermined period of time when a timer mechanism also carried by the base member releases a latch mechanism holding the socket inclined against the bias of the spring. The panel is preferably shaped like a human head. The game-pieces preferably resemble facial features and have bases shaped complementary to recesses formed in the panel at appropriate locations and are selected by the player as a component of a face by reference to a design on a card. The game is won by first selecting the appropriate game pieces and applying them to the panel to produce the prescribed composite design and then manually stopping the timer mechanism before it causes the game-pieces to be ejected from the panel.

  • Patent number: 4319532
Abstract: A toy device adapted to loop a strand such as yarn through sheet material such as resinous foam fabric so as to simulate sewing or other needlework. The overall shape of the device simulates a sewing machine, that is, includes a platform on which material to be worked is held and a head supported in vertical spaced relationship thereabove. A hollow needle through which a strand may be threaded is supported on the bottom of a reciprocal plunger which when moved up and down, as by the child manipulating the device, causes the needle to project through the material and causes a series of loops to be formed on the back face thereof. A strand inserting device including a vertically reciprocal rod is positioned in alignment above the open end of the needle so as to thread the same. In the upper position of the plunger, the rod is independently operable from the plunger but acts in conjunction with the plunger in its lower position for safety purposes.

  • Patent number: 4318388
Abstract: A toy device for launching a disk, a ring or a similar circular-shaped toy missile. A pair of opposed, dog-legged arms are pivoted together in an uncrossed relationship. Each of the opposed arms has a first elongated portion with an open channel for engaging the rim of the disk, ring or similar circular-shaped toy missile to be launched and a second elongated portion with a handle for grasping by the user of the toy device. All of the interior surfaces of one of the open channels are relatively smooth. One of the interior surfaces of the other open channel is textured to increase friction when it engages the rim of the disk, ring or similar circular-shaped toy missile to be launched. The coaction of the textured interior surface of one of the open channels and the opposed smooth interior surface of the other open channel on the rim of the circular-shaped toy missile imparts rotational motion to the toy missile as it is impelled forward in the open channels prior to launching.

  • Patent number: 4213266
Abstract: A tumbling toy having an end-over-end tumbling action and including a hollow housing having spaced end caps, an outer sleeve and an inner tubular member joined to the end caps and receiving a weighted ball for rolling action therein, the weighted ball having rolling movement between the end caps to produce the tumbling end-over-end action of the housing when an exterior force is applied thereto or when the tumbling toy is placed on a downwardly inclined surface.

  • Patent number: 4109411
Abstract: A toy glider includes a body portion, a wing portion mounted on the body portion, and a pair of arms pivotally mounted on the body portion. The body portion is shaped to resemble a human figure and the arms are pivotable between a raised position and a lowered position both extending along and parallel to the sides of the body portion. The body portion, wing portion and arms are made of flexible resilient foam material. A mounting rod extends through the body portion and through downwardly-bent tabs in the wing portion for mounting the latter on the body portion. The arms are pivotally mounted on projecting end portions of the mounting pin.
