  • Publication number: 20080225840
Abstract: A Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) system cooperates with a phone and an access point storing default connecting information. The VOIP system includes a transmitting module, a receiving module, a decoding module and a comparing module. The transmitting module is disposed in the phone and transmits numeral information. The receiving module is disposed in the access point and receives the numeral information. The decoding module is disposed in the access point and is electrically connected with the receiving module for converting the numeral information into character information. The comparing module is disposed in the access point and is electrically connected with the decoding module for comparing the character information and the default connecting information so as to determine whether the access point proceeds to connect with the phone or not.

  • Publication number: 20080002653
Abstract: The present invention discloses a method of the Early 4-Way Handshaking, which is part of the Advanced Pre-Authentication (APA). In the standard 802.11i pre-authentication procedure, the 4-way handshaking is performed in the reassociation or association process. Therefore, more time will be taken for the client to reassociate/associate with the new AP (access point.) With the method of the Early 4-Way Handshaking, we limit the reassociation/association negotiation within two messages exchanged, and perform the 4-way handshaking in the pre-authentication phase.

  • Publication number: 20070258415
Abstract: A method for the wireless client automatically updates the security setting of its own in order to access the specified wireless local area network (LAN) by the wireless server. The method comprises several processes, including a wireless client trying to build a wireless connection with a wireless server of the wireless LAN. But the wireless connection fails to be built, because the security setting of the wireless client do not match with the security setting of the wireless server of the wireless LAN. Then the wireless server of the wireless LAN builds a temporary connection with the wireless client in order to communicate with each other. The wireless server of the wireless LAN sends the security setting of the wireless LAN to the wireless client through the temporary connection by HTTP (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol) packets. After the wireless client receives the security settings of the wireless LAN, the wireless client changes the security settings of its own to match the received settings.

  • Patent number: 6959279
Abstract: A text-to-speech conversion system that includes a first module to convert text into words, a second module to convert words into phonemes, a third module to map phonemes to sound units, and a storage unit to store speech representations for a library of sound units. The first, second, and third modules and the storage unit are implemented within a single integrated circuit to reduce size and cost. The system typically further includes a ROM to store the codes for the modules, a RAM to store the text and intermediate results, a processor to execute the codes for the modules, a control module to direct the operation of the first, second, and third modules. The storage unit may be implemented with a multi-level, non-volatile analog storage array and may be programmed with a new library of speech representations by a programming module.
