  • Patent number: 5487378
Abstract: An inhaler for dispensing droplets of liquid medicament to a patient comprising a body having a mouthpiece or nasal adaptor and a reservoir of liquid medicament in communication with an aerosol generator. The aerosol generator includes a chamber for the liquid medicament and a nozzle arrangement having a plurality of orifices. Means are provided for cyclically pressurizing the liquid medicament in the chamber such that liquid from the chamber is periodically expelled through the orifices of the nozzle arrangement as atomizer droplets of liquid medicament. Dosage control means are also provided for deactivating the aerosol generator after a predetermined time or after a predetermined volume of liquid medicament has been expelled from the chamber.

  • Patent number: 4716942
Abstract: An optical weft stop motion for looms with a U-shaped reed includes an optical emitter, an optical receiver, and a unitary optical conductive plate attachable disposed between the reed lamellae. The plate is provided with a recess which is substantially congruent with and adjacent to the recesses in the U-shaped reed. The optical conductive plate is provided with internal light reflecting side walls which guide the light in the shape of a beam from the emitter through the complete or almost the complete recess of the plate and reflect it further to the receiver.

  • Patent number: 4484862
Abstract: An apparatus for controlling the operation of a pump, especially a submersible pump, and particularly for controlling a water level in connection with cellar drainage pumps, comprises at least one level detector using the principle of acoustic impedance for detecting the presence or absence of liquid to be pumped, said level detector being electrically connected to a control circuit controlling a switching device for the pump.

  • Patent number: 4297608
Abstract: The invention relates to a measuring probe for the acoustic determination of the specific gravity of a liquid. The probe includes a holder to which is attached at opposite ends thereof a ceramic piezoelectric transducer disc and a reflector disk. A reference element having a known acoustical impedance has one end thereof abutting the transducer disc and the other end thereof spaced from the reflector disc to form a sampling space therebetween.
