    Abstract: The invention provides a signal-powered integrated circuit (IC). The IC comprises an integrated circuit die including a ground node, a supply node, and a first terminal for receiving a digital data signal having data content and a predetermined energy. A receive buffer formed on the integrated circuit die is connected to the first terminal and capable of receiving the data content associated with the digital data signal. A rectifier is also formed on the integrated circuit die. The rectifier includes a first diode connected between the first terminal and the ground node and a second diode connected between the first terminal and the supply node. The rectifier is configured to rectify the digital data signal and pass at least a portion of the digital data signal's predetermined energy to the supply node. Each of the first and second diodes is capable of withstanding an ESD impulse.

The wireless adapter includes a wireless module such as a radio transmission/reception module that supports one or more wireless interfaces and has embedded software stack with at least one or several communication protocols. The wireless module is connected to a microprocessor emulating role of a master device. The adapter interface connector plugs into the legacy interface connector of the non-master peripheral device. The microprocessor emulates a master device in legacy interface in combination with a voltage regulator/converter so the wireless adapter plays a role of a master device in legacy interface with the non-master peripheral device acting as a non-master device in interface.

    Abstract: A power level determination device provides an output voltage usable as a specific reference power level corresponding to each RF input power level. The device includes a peak detector, which detects a pulse-type signal at its input and provides a non-pulse-type signal at its output. N comparators are provided, where N is an integer. Each of the N comparators has an output, a first input coupled to the output of the peak detector, and a second input coupled to a respectively different threshold voltage. The first one of the N comparators has a maximum threshold voltage. The threshold voltages decrease monotonically from No. 1 to No. N. N exclusive-OR components are provided. A first one of the N exclusive-OR components is coupled to ground and to the output of a first one of the N comparators.

Television signals are transmitted in a first frequency band, telephone signals are transmitted in a second frequency band, and data signals are transmitted in a third frequency band. Bidirectional terminal adapters are connected to each endpoint of the primary signal distribution path. The terminal adapters connect to end user devices which receive signals from the primary signal distribution path. In addition, the terminal adapters connect to signal sources which provide the signals to be distributed via the primary signal distribution path. In one embodiment, television signals received from a CATV television network are received by a television distribution module.

    Abstract: A booster for amplifying the signal of a mobile unit of a cellular telephone system. The booster includes a level determination device which produces a reference level based on a power level of a signal received from the mobile unit. The level determination device includes a step voltage circuit which produces a step voltage based on the power level of the signal received from the mobile unit. The step voltage is supplied to a resulting voltage circuit which produces a resulting voltage based on the step voltage, the resulting voltage suitably providing a reference level for the booster.
