Abstract: A method includes, in a receiver, identifying an event that involves replacement of a ciphering key used by the receiver. In response to the event, at least a portion of a payload of an Internet Protocol (IP) packet received by the receiver is deciphered using the replaced ciphering key. A verification is made whether a predefined location in the deciphered portion of the IP packet, which is expected to specify an IP version of the IP packet, indeed specifies a valid IP version. Upon detecting that the location does not specify the valid IP version, a recovery process that recovers from improper replacement of the ciphering key is initiated.

Abstract: A method includes, in a mobile communication terminal, receiving a signal, which carries media content that has been encrypted after being compressed in accordance with a compression protocol having a plurality of predefined configurations. Each configuration specifies a respective compression mode of the compression protocol. The received signal is decrypted, and one or more parameters that define a configuration of the compression protocol that was used for compressing the media content are determined from the decrypted signal. An absence of match is detected when the determined one or more parameters do not match any of the plurality of predetermined configurations of the compression protocol. An error in decrypting the received signal is identified based on detecting the absence of a match.

Abstract: A method for extending a conversation across applications includes providing a conversation repository for storing a plurality of conversations for a plurality of applications. A conversation in the conversation repository is identified as having a context that is relevant to a first application object of a first application of the plurality of applications in response to a conversation call from a second application of the plurality of applications.
