  • Publication number: 20240070665
Abstract: A blockchain-based exchange system includes a distributed group of computers operating a distributed consensus algorithm and having a distributed ledger. The system enables trades to be recorded on the distributed ledger. The system performs operations including receiving, from a first user, a deposit of a first value, converting the first value into a first pool token, adding the first value to a first pool, receiving, from a second user, a deposit of a second value.

  • Patent number: 9661992
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for extending a tube, the apparatus including a foldable tube having a folded portion inside an unfolded portion of the tube, and a source of fluid coupled to the unfolded portion for providing fluid into the unfolded portion to unfold and extend the folded portion out of the unfolded portion to become an extension of the unfolded portion. The apparatus and methods are useful, inter alia, for cleansing the colon in the normal direction, that is, from the cecum to the anus, using an apparatus that is introduced via the anus. A washing liquid is supplied deep into the colon via the soft feed tube that is inserted via the anus and is extended into the colon by inflation. The washing liquid is then drained out via the anus through a drainage channel.

  • Publication number: 20150170198
Abstract: A bid optimization system optimizes bid amounts in bid records of an information providing or advertising campaigns. The system includes a detection engine for detecting (finding) rules from campaign data, including bid records, from the profit report data of the campaign data. The bid records are organized in a set, which is continuously being updated and revised for profitability, to create a new set of reordered of bid records, based on these detected rules. The detected rules are then applied to the new set of reordered bid records, to optimize the bid amounts of each bid record.

  • Publication number: 20070282827
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for processing data includes receiving an initial set of records including terms describing respective items in specified categories. Based on the initial set of records, respective term weights are calculated for at least some of the terms with respect to at least some of the categories. Each term weight indicates, for a given term and a given category, a likelihood that a record containing the given term belongs to the given category. Upon receiving a new record, not included in the initial set, respective assignment metrics are computed for two or more of the categories using the respective term weights of the particular terms in the new record with respect to the two or more of the categories. The new record is classified in one of the two or more of the categories responsively to the assignment metrics.

  • Publication number: 20070156749
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for processing data includes receiving an input from a user including positive examples and negative examples of a specified data type. The positive examples include first character strings that belong to the specified data type, and the negative examples include second character strings that do not belong to the specified data type. The first and second character strings are processed to create a set of attributes that characterize the positive examples. A decision tree is built, based on the attributes, which when applied to the first and second strings, distinguishes the positive examples from the negative examples. The decision tree is applied to the data so as to identify occurrences of the specified data type.

  • Patent number: 6542881
Abstract: The present invention aims to improve data mining results, and improve prediction ability for data mining activities. It encompasses a system and method for revealing the set of necessary and sufficient conditions of the values in one of the data set fields, selected by the user as the dependent variable. Based on revealing the if then rules that relate the dependent variable to the other fields by one of the known association rule systems. These if-then rules are then tested against the dependent variable values, and where they are both positive and above a pre-determined threshold, the results are a set of necessary and sufficient conditions.

  • Patent number: 6311173
Abstract: A method and system for predicting an unknown value of an attribute of interest of a given item from a population of items, each item in the population having a plurality of variable attributes including the attribute of interest. Known attribute values regarding a training sample of items within the population including the attribute of interest are stored in a memory. The stored attribute values are processed to determine association rules regarding the training sample, including at least one generalized association rule, each association rule including one or more conditions on one or more respective attribute values of the items predictive of the value of the attribute of interest, and the at least one generalized rule including a logical combination of a plurality of such conditions using at least one logical operation from the group consisting of disjunction and negation. Data are received from an input device, the data including values of at least some of the attributes of the given item.
