  • Patent number: 9712227
Abstract: A radio frequency (“RF”) repeater system can receive, from a connected home device, an original RF signal that is unable to propagate through an object. The RF repeater system can demodulate the original RF signal to extract a data stream that includes data captured by the connected home device, can change an original data rate of the data stream to a new data rate that matches an ultrasonic frequency capable of propagating through the object thereby creating an ultrasonic data stream, can transmit, by a first surface transducer, the ultrasonic data stream through the object to a second surface transducer, can receive, by the second surface transducer, the ultrasonic data stream, can change the data stream from the new data rate back to the original data rate, can modulate the data stream to create a new RF signal, and can transmit the new RF signal towards the destination.

  • Publication number: 20150008867
Abstract: Charge pump battery charging is disclosed. Charge pump battery charging can include accumulating charge on a charge storage device. The accumulated charge can be selectively discharged to facilitate recharging a battery. The discharge current can generally be at a higher average current than the charging current. The selective discharge can be based on a determined a discharge time, a determined duty cycle, or monitoring of the accumulated charge on the charge storage device. Control values related to the selective discharge can be updated from remotely located devices. Charge pump battery charging can provide for high current pulsed charging of NiMH battery cells at a low input current.

  • Publication number: 20090254956
Abstract: A communication signal characteristic measurement system comprising: detecting a quiet line including: storing a specific characteristic data, detecting a vertical synchronization pulse in the specific characteristic data, and applying an eight line delay in the specific characteristic data; and displaying a data set showing the quiet line relative to the vertical synchronization pulse.

  • Patent number: 7359687
Abstract: A system, apparatus, method and computer program product to obtain comprehensive vehicle radio listener statistics based on parameters such as radio status (e.g., on/off status and CD/Tape/AM/FM setting), radio volume, station preset information, current frequency setting (i.e., station identification), and Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) system coordinates is disclosed. A vehicle-mounted field unit for collecting and transmitting such parameters to a base station is also disclosed. The system monitors and stores all events related to the occupants' interaction with the vehicle's radio, including automatic detection of the selected radio station through a speaker port. The stored data is then transmitted to a base station's central collection computer for immediate compilation and analysis.

  • Patent number: 6310645
Abstract: A method and apparatus for measuring a characteristic of a communication signal modulated with a composite video signal without the need for a synchronizing device. Samples are taken of an intermediate signal derived from the received communication signal that represents the power spectrum of the communication signal at different instants of time. From a priori knowledge of the spectral characteristics of the communication signal modulated with a composite video signal, predetermined features of the communication signal are identified based on the relative values of the samples collected over a period of time equal to an entire frame of the composite video signal. The sample with the maximum value of a plurality of sample values collected for one frame is coincident with the occurrence of a vertical synchronization pulse of the composite video signal, which occurs when no modulation is present, and therefore is representative of the power of the communication signal at the visual carrier frequency.
