    Abstract: A chiller assembly for a galley having one or more rectangular galley compartments defined by a back wall, a floor, a top wall and two opposing side walls, the chiller assembly comprising a chiller system comprising a heat exchanger configured to be located in use in a space adjacent a side wall of a compartment external to the compartment, and a blower duct connected to receive chilled air from the heat exchanger, the blower duct arranged to extend adjacent the top wall or the floor of the compartment, the blower duct having vents to blow chilled air into the compartment via the top wall or the floor, the chiller system further comprising a return duct arranged adjacent the other of the floor or the top wall of the compartment to suck air from the compartment and return it to the heat exchanger.

    Abstract: An air return duct and air return duct grille for a chiller in an aircraft galley has articulated slats that are biased to open during chilling cycles and close during defrost cycles. In the closed orientation, the articulated slats divert any condensate from the chiller to a collection hose; in the open orientation, the articulated slates allow unrestricted airflow. The articulated slats may include a passive biasing element to bias the articulated slats into an open or closed orientation as necessary. The air return duct may also include air return duct grills without articulated slates to allow unobstructed air flow when the articulated slats are in a closed orientation.

    Abstract: In an illustrative embodiment, an aircraft galley ducting assembly provides airflow to at least one compartment of an aircraft galley monument. The ducting assembly may include a supply air duct that provides a supply airflow path to a compartment that includes an inlet port mounted to a compartment surface. A return air duct may provide an exit airflow path for return air that has circulated throughout the compartment and includes an outlet port mounted to the compartment surface. An airflow adjustment apparatus with an airflow adjustment surface is positioned within the supply airflow path of the supply air duct or the exit airflow path of the return air duct to cause a modification of airflow properties for air passing across or through the airflow adjustment surface.
