The surface area of the propeller tunnel recessed in the hull in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the vessel is essentially constant over the length of the cavity. The width of the cavity increases in the upstream direction to the end of the tunnel.

Abstract: Collection assembly for collecting and stacking articles. The articles are first moved adjacent to one another with the aid of positioning elements. The positioning elements comprise the conveyor belt that extends obliquely with respect to the distribution conveyor and that can be moved over the distribution conveyor to a greater or lesser extent. After bringing the articles into a row on a discharge plate, these are stacked, optionally via a buffer plate, on a lift plate and after the stack has been compressed to some extent this stack is slid into the box in such a way that the products concerned are placed vertically in the box.

The elements (21) for removably mounting a section (16; 17) provided with drivers (15) on an attachment member (20) of a conveyor (1a, 1b; 2a, 2b) are designed in such a manner that the distance from these elements (21) to two flexible conveyor members (1a, 1b; 2a, 2b) situated next to and at a short distance from one another is substantially identical.

Abstract: A rectangular folding box comprises at least four side walls (1 to 4 inclusive), which are connected to one another by fold lines, and a bottom wall (5 to 8 inclusive) comprising flaps. In order to provide the folding box with a display function, one of the side walls (1) has in the center a tear line (14) which runs perpendicular to the bottom wall (5 to 8 inclusive). Furthermore, the bottom wall has in the center a tear line (16, 17) which adjoins the tear line (14) of the said side wall (1). The side wall (3) which is situated opposite the side wall (1) provided with a tear line (14) can be folded along a line (15) which adjoins the tear line (16, 17) of the bottom wall and runs parallel to the tear line (14) of the first side wall (1) mentioned.

Abstract: A device for packing filled bags in outers comprises means (1, 3) for placing the bags in a row in such a way that they overlap each other, a suction box (8) with suction cups (13, 14) for retaining filled bags, which suction box can be moved between a pick-up position above the means for forming a row and a delivery positon above an outer or device for feeding in an outer, and means (4, 6) for pushing a formed row of bags up against the suction cups of the suction box. The suction box (8) has one or more rows of suction cups (13) having mouths placed relatively high up and one or more rows of suction cups having mouths placed relatively low down. In a tint pick-up position of the suction box, the suction cups having mouths placed high up are positioned directly above the means for forming a row of bags, and in a second pick-up position of the suction box, the suction cups having mouths placed relatively low down are situated directly above the means for forming a row of bags.

Abstract: A device for placing objects, in particular filled bags, in a row in such a way that they overlap slanting backwards, comprises at least one rotor (3) to be driven so that it rotates, which rotor is provided with at least one cam in the form of a diameter Jump, at least one conveyor track (1) for feeding in objects to said cam, and at least one conveyor track (2) for discharging objects which have been carried along by the cam of the rotating rotor (3) and deposited on the discharge conveyor tracks. The cam (4) on rotation of the rotor (3) makes space for the object resting on said cam and to be placed on the discharge conveyor track (2), and the feed end of the discharge conveyor track (2) is situated next to the rotor (3).

Abstract: A device for filling outers with filled bags comprises a cassette (1) for the accommodation of a number of bags or rows of bags stacked on each other, feed apparatus (10, 11) for filling the cassette with bags from the top, and discharge apparatus (4, 5) for sliding the stack laterally out of the cassette into a tilted outer. For the purpose of simplification and for making the structure less susceptible to faults, the cassette has a fixed position, and a sliding cover plate or deposit plate (8) is placed at the top side of the cassette for supporting a row of bags. Structure (9) is present for sliding the cover plate (8) to and fro between a covering position in which the top side of the cassette is covered and a free position in which the bags can fall into the cassette.

Abstract: A device for transferring objects, such as filled bags, from a conveyor to a collection device, such as a box, placed below the conveyor comprises two conveyor belts (1, 2) placed adjacent to each other. In the conveying position, the top parts of said conveyor belts together form one conveying face. Each of the conveyor belts (1, 2) is disposed on a tiltable frame (4). In order to make the drive of the conveyor belts (1, 2) extremely simple and to make it possible to adjust the conveyor belts at right angles to their direction of conveyance, the drive comprises a drive pulley (3) acting upon the top part of the belts (1, 2) in the conveying position thereof.

Abstract: For packing filled bags into boxes an apparatus is provided which includes a receiving plate for collecting bags in a row, and a pusher plate for pushing the row to a position above a box to allow the row to fall into the box. To achieve an accurate positioning of the rows of bags in a box and a high degree of filling of the box a movable cassette is positioned above a waiting box. In order to bridge over the varying distance between the cassette and the receiving plate, a bridging plate extends between the cassette and the receiving plate. Preferably the bridging plate is in the form of a slide plate which is joined to the cassette.

Abstract: For testing filled closed packages of flexible material for leaktightness use is made of an apparatus provided with conveyor means (2) for feeding packages in line and with means for applying pressure to the packages. The last-mentioned means consist of two pressure belts (4, 5) disposed a short distance apart. In the gap (6) between the pressure belts (4, 5) is situated a pivoting arm (8) or a shoe (20) having a pressure chamber (21), whereby it can be determined whether the portion of the package lying in the gap between the pressure belts is taut. This apparatus is in particular suitable for testing bags having two curved surfaces which are joined together by three or four sealing seams.

Abstract: A device for packing filled bags of low weight into boxes comprises a suction box (1) movable along a horizontal track between a pick-up position and a delivery position. The suction box is provided with a number of suction cups (2). To avoid the problem of bags falling from the suction cups or not taken up by these cups the device comprises means (17, 18, 19) for pushing the bags upwards against the suction cups.

Abstract: An apparatus for packaging product-filled sealed bags in cases includes an inclined plate and an extensible pushing plate operable to arrange a predetermined number of bags fed from an infeed conveyor in a row on the inclined plate. The row is supported thereon by a movable support pivotable from a holding or supporting position to a retracted position in which the row is free to slide downwardly off the inclined plate and onto a retractable bottom plate. The movable support further operates to position each row formed in an upright position on the bottom plate, where a predetermined number of rows are successively accumulated. The accumulated rows are laterally supported on one side by the movable support and on the other side by a cylinder having a supporting back plate at the end. When a predetermined number of rows have been accumulated, the bottom plate is retracted to allow a cylinder-operated pushing plate to push the rows downwardly into an underlying open case.

Abstract: Disclosed is a packaging machine which forms, fills, and seals bags in vertical orientation, and includes a heat sealing and severing jaw mechanism located below a vertical forming and filling tube. One of the sealing jaws includes a defective package detector which responds to resistance to pressure exerted on the filled package.

Abstract: Apparatus for discarding leaky packages from a row of filled sealed packages on a conveyor belt comprising means for exerting pressure on the packages while on the belt and means for removing packages from the belt which appear to be leaky when subjected to said pressure, wherein said means for exerting pressure comprises the conveyor belt and a member located above said belt that in cooperation exert pressure on a package on the belt, either one of said member or belt being movable with respect to the other and the smallest distance between said belt and said member being chosen so that only a tight package is clamped therebetween while a leaky package is not, and said means for removing the leaky packages comprises a nozzle that blows air agains the packages in the space between said belt and member, whereby unclamped leaky packages will be removed from the conveyor belt.
