  • Patent number: 4885667
Abstract: A gooseneck lamp assembly for clamping to a table includes a base member with a clamp portion at one end and a mounting portion for the gooseneck elements at the other end and a pivotable floating clamp with a vertically extending leg portion slidably seated in a slot in the clamp portion of the base member and a clamping leg portion extending forwardly therefrom beneath the clamp portion of the base member. The shank of a clamping bolt extends through the clamp portion of the base member and the clamping leg portion of the clamp, and a knob is threadably engaged on the portion of the shank extending above the base member so that rotation of the knob will effect pivoting of the free end of the clamping portion towards and away from the base member.

  • Patent number: 4221160
Abstract: Fluid operating mechanism providing stationary and rotary companion parts of a fluid coupling having in the rotary part a cylinder with a piston defining therein opposite chuck closing and opening cylinder ends, and ports in both coupling parts which, together with two fixed conduits, form fluid passages to the opposite cylinder ends, with each passage having an interposed check valve and an associated plunger, of which the check valve in either passage will open to admit fluid into, but will normally close to block fluid flow from, the associated cylinder end, and the plunger associated with the check valve in either passage will open this valve on being subjected to the pressure of fluid in the other passage.

  • Patent number: 4102065
Abstract: A collapsible and adjustable stand for supporting needlework and the like includes base members, vertical leg members secured to the base members, and a support member pivotally secured to the upper end of the vertical leg members. The support member is pivotable into a plurality of angular positions relative to the vertical leg members and is retained in pivotally adjusted position by angular adjustment means. The stand includes bracing means to increase the stability of the structure. The support member includes two spaced end elements which define the angularly adjustable plane thereof and may include one or more elongated bar members extending between the ends thereof. A multiplicity of upwardly projecting pins on alternate forms of the support member serve either to define a recess for seating a needlepoint frame and to retain lengths of wool or the like for use therewith, or to provide means for seating thereon the canvas of a rug being worked upon.
