Patent number: 11129653Abstract: A bone plate system having a retainer for resisting back-out of a bone anchor from a throughbore of a bone plate is provided. In one aspect, a bone plate system having a resilient retainer disposed in a bone plate throughbore with a pair of elongate arm portions of the resilient retainer extending along opposite sides of the throughbore. In another aspect, a bone plate system having a resilient retainer with a pair of elongate interference portions completely exposed in the throughbore and spaced from each other across the throughbore to retain a head of a bone anchor received in the throughbore. In addition, a bone plate system having a resilient retainer with a pair of opposite end portions disposed within a groove of a throughbore wall such that a bone anchor may be inserted into the throughbore without contacting either of the opposite end portions of the retainer.Type: GrantFiled: December 12, 2018Date of Patent: September 28, 2021Assignee: Pioneer Surgical Technology, Inc.Inventors: Scott Perrow, Joseph Mohar, Lawrence Mosca, Matthew P. Publication number: 20210290276Abstract: Medical implant systems and methods of use thereof, and, more particularly, bone fixating plating systems and methods of use thereof. The medical implant system includes a plurality of fasteners, a receiving member body having a plurality of openings (capable of receiving one of the plurality of fasteners), and a plurality of locking mechanisms rotatably connected to the receiving member body. Each opening has at least one locking mechanism located nearby. Each locking mechanism can be rotated with an instrument between an open position and a closed position relative to the opening nearby the locking mechanism. Stops prevent over-rotation of the locking mechanism past the open position and the closed position. Each fastener can be rotated with the instrument to secure the fasteners into bone. When the locking mechanism is in the open position, the fastener can be passed through the opening and the instrument can be coupled to the fastener to rotate the fastener.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 20, 2020Publication date: September 23, 2021Applicant: Alliance Partners LLCInventors: Bruce Riceman, Brad Fredin

Publication number: 20210177477Abstract: An improved cannulated aspiration screw device and method of use thereof for removal of, inter alia, bone marrow from a patient's bone. The cannulated aspiration screw device includes a shaft at its proximate end and a drilling dip section at its distal end and has a removable insert, that when inserted in the cannulated aspiration screw device at is proximate end prevents the flow of materials into and through the cannulated aspiration screw device while the device is being screwed into the bone. Once the cannulated aspiration screw device is screwed in place, the removable insert is removed, and an aspiration device (such as a surgical syringe) is then connected at the proximate end of the cannulated aspiration screw device (generally utilizing a connector) and aspiration is then performed using the aspiration device.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 14, 2020Publication date: June 17, 2021Applicant: Alliance Partners LLCInventors: Anish Vaghela, Brad Fredin, Andrew F. Publication number: 20210059834Abstract: A medical implant having an anchoring system for anchoring and retaining the medical implant (such as a cage) in place and method of use thereof. The implantable intervertebral device can be used with any interchangeable combination of (a) anchors and (b) screws (i.e., the surgeon/practitioner can use the same medical implant and elect which combination of anchors and screws to use for anchoring purposes). The medical implant can be placed between the vertebrae and a tool be utilized to secure and anchor the medical implant in place.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 26, 2020Publication date: March 4, 2021Applicant: Alliance Partners LLCInventors: Natalie MIGUEL, Bruce RICEMAN, Brad FREDIN, Anish VAGHELA

Patent number: 10898247Abstract: Bone plate systems are provided for surgical implants and bone repair. The bone plate is multi-tiered for receiving bone anchors screws for securing a plurality of bones or bone fragments in a desired relationship. The plate members include throughbores for receiving a pivot base therein, with head ends of the bone anchors being secured in the pivot bases. The throughbores may permit and define a translation path for the pivot base and the bone anchor secured therein relative to the plate. Pivot members extending between the pivot base and the plate member facilitate pivoting and optional translation of the pivot base relative to the plate. With the bone anchor seated within the pivot base, an apparatus for inhibiting screw back out is employed.Type: GrantFiled: December 11, 2018Date of Patent: January 26, 2021Assignee: Pioneer Surgical Technology, Inc.Inventors: Scott J. Perrow, Brad Fredin, Craig Filizetti

Patent number: 10888358Abstract: A bone plate system is provided that includes bone plates and bone anchor assemblies for being inserted into bone plate bores to secure the bone plates to one or more bones. In one aspect, the bone plate system includes a bone anchor assembly having a locking cap and a locking fastener connected to a head portion of a bone anchor. The bone anchor assembly is driven into a bone plate bore before the locking fastener is shifted to expand the locking cap and fix the bone anchor assembly within the bore. In another aspect, the bone plate system includes a bone anchor assembly having a locking cap that deflects radially inward due to contact with the bone plate at large bone anchor assembly insertion angles. In addition, a bone anchor assembly having a preassembled condition with a locking cap resisting back out of a locking fastener.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 2018Date of Patent: January 12, 2021Assignee: Pioneer Surgical Technology, Inc.Inventors: Scott J.
