    Abstract: A file server can receive a request from a client executing on an end-user device for access to a given file and a digital certificate assigned to a user. The file server can wrap content of the given file with a public key of the digital certificate assigned to the user to form wrapped content, such that content of the given file is accessible only with a private key corresponding to the public key of the digital certificate. The file server can also embed permissions for access to the given file and the wrapped content of the given file in a secure file and transmit the secure file to the client.
