  • Publication number: 20170087366
Abstract: Techniques are provided for use with a trial neurostimulation device having a lead for implant within a patient. In one example, neurostimulation is delivered using the lead while an indication of patient pain is detected. Various functions of the trial device are then controlled in response to patient pain, such as by adjusting neurostimulation control parameters to improve pain reduction, recording diagnostic information representative of patient pain or transmitting such parameters to a separate external instrument for analysis. In this manner, patient pain is automatically detected to provide objective feedback as to the efficacy of trial neurostimulation. Various embodiments of flexible trial neurostimulation device patches are described herein, including patches that are adhesively mounted over the point of entry of the trial lead into the patient, thus providing a comfortable patch that hygienically isolates the point of entry of the lead.

  • Patent number: 9381357
Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods for neurostimulation. The method includes applying electrical stimulation to a patient using a paddle lead that includes a plurality of electrodes, acquiring evoked response data using at least some of the plurality of electrodes, wherein the evoked response data is indicative of a patient response to the electrical stimulation, transmitting the evoked response data to a computing device, and processing the evoked response data using the computing device to facilitate monitoring the applied electrical stimulation.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 14, 2014
Date of Patent: July 5, 2016
    Assignee: Pacesetter, Inc.
Inventors: Xiaoyi Min, Timothy A. Fayram, Brad Maruca, Enri Zhulati, Kyle Pulley

  • Publication number: 20150224318
Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods for neurostimulation. The system includes a paddle including a plurality of electrodes arranged in a plurality of rows and columns, and an implantable pulse generator (IPG) electrically coupled to the paddle. The IPG is configured to step the paddle through a plurality of electrode configurations, wherein for each of the plurality of electrode configurations, a pair of electrodes in one row operate as anodes, and at least one electrode in the same row as the pair of electrodes and positioned between the pair of electrodes operates as a cathode.
