  • Publication number: 20240091588
Abstract: A one-way breath training device has a mouth insert engaged to a cage housing a movable baffle. The mouth insert has an air hole extending from a first end to a second end. The baffle moves within the cage between a backstop having air pathways therethrough to the second end of the mouth insert. The cage has one or more guidance tracks which the baffle moves along. When a user attempts to inhale through their mouth, the inflow of air pulls the baffle against the second end and blocks the air hole to prevent further air from entering the air hole. When a user exhales through the mouth insert, the outflowing air pushes the baffle against the backstop of the cage thereby opening the air hole and air pathways for the exhaled air to escape.

  • Patent number: 8755930
Abstract: The present invention generally relates to a method, apparatus, and computer program product for optimizing article or bin location in an automated storage device to increase the efficiency of article retrieval in filling an order. Methods of example embodiments may determine a number of touches of each of a plurality of bins of a storage system, where the touches are calculated over a predetermined period of time, identify a bin with more touches than a bin at a first location, where the bin with more touches is at a second location, and direct the bin with more touches than the bin at the first location to be swapped with the bin at the first location. Identifying a bin with more touches may include identifying a bin with a number of touches that exceeds the number of touches of the bin in the first location by a predetermined amount.

  • Patent number: 8740731
Abstract: A training device includes a plate assembly pivotally connected to a support member. The plate assembly includes an angled top plate that is removably mounted onto a flat balance plate. The support member includes a rectangular mounting bracket that is transversely disposed across an enlarged base, the balance plate directly teetering on the mounting bracket. In use, the training device can be used to train a hitter to maximize lower body power using sensory and auditory feedback. Specifically, the hitter centers his rear foot on the angled top plate which promotes weight loading on the inner portion of the rear leg. The hitter then initiates the hitting process by driving the lower body forward until the balance plate pivots forward and strikes the base, thereby providing the user with audible and tactile response. This lower body drive creates significant momentum that powers rotation of the bat through the hitting zone.

  • Patent number: 8517853
Abstract: A golf training system includes a stationary front foot support, a pivotable rear foot support and a raised ball support. The pivotable rear foot support includes a rectangular mounting bracket transversely disposed across an enlarged base and a flat balance plate that directly teeters on the mounting bracket. In use, the golf training system can be used to promote proper weight distribution throughout a golf swing using sensory and auditory feedback. Specifically, the golfer disposes the rear foot on top of the balance plate and the front foot across the stationary front foot support with body weight maintained on the inner portion of the rear leg throughout the backswing. The golfer initiates the downswing by firing the hips open and driving the lower body forward until the balance plate pivots and strikes the base, thereby providing the user with immediate audible and tactile response of proper execution.

  • Patent number: 8474426
Abstract: A roller lifter assembly has a lifter body with a leg extending outwardly therefrom, a bar having a elongated slot formed therein, a first rivet having a head and a shank, a button affixed to the shank of the rivet so as to sandwich the bar between the button and the leg of the lifter body. The head of the rivet has a surface adjacent to the shank that bears against a curved inner surface of the leg of the lifter body so as to prevent the rivet from rotating. The shank extends through the hole in the leg and through the elongated slot of the bar. The rivet is positioned so as to as to be non-rotatable during the movement of the lifter bodies.

  • Patent number: 8460132
Abstract: A softball training device includes a plate assembly pivotally connected to a support member. The plate assembly includes a flat, circular balance plate and a downwardly protruding kick stand formed on its rear end. The support member includes an enlarged base and rectangular mounting bracket transversely disposed on the base, the balance plate directly teetering on the mounting bracket. In use, the training device can be used to train a hitter to maximize lower power drive. Specifically, the hitter centers her rear foot on the balance plate and positions her other foot in front of the device. The hitter then loads her weight rearward, the kick stand keeping the balance plate horizontal. The hitter finally transfers her weight forward through accelerated hip and torso rotation so that the balance plate pivots forward and strikes the base to create an audible signal. With hips and torso initiating the forward movement, the arms are similarly pulled forward so the bat travels through the hitting zone.

  • Publication number: 20110161108
Abstract: Systems and methods for detecting diversion in drug dispensing transactions are provided. The systems and methods described provide an integrated platform for collecting and analyzing data that describes a user's drug dispensing transactions and determines a diversion score for the user that indicates the relative severity of the user's diversion activities. The diversion score may be weighted to reflect the relative importance of a respective category of diversion activity to the identification of drug diverters with respect to other categories. Furthermore, in determining a user's diversion score, the user's transaction data may be compared with transaction data regarding the user's peers. In this way, for example, high diversion scores may indicate a high occurrence of suspicious activity, and users having high diversion scores may be further monitored and investigated to determine whether the particular user is indeed diverting drugs for illegitimate use.
