  • Patent number: 10737787
Abstract: There is described herein a method and system for the configuration of vehicle management components using in-vehicle position detection. The in-vehicle position detection may also be used for providing a floor plan of the vehicle. In some embodiments, in-vehicle position detection may be used concurrently for configuring vehicle management components and for providing floor plans.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 26, 2018
Date of Patent: August 11, 2020
    Assignee: BOMBADIER INC.
Inventors: Alexis Morin, Marc Kirmoyan, Brad Nolen

  • Patent number: 10144512
Abstract: A system for controlling passenger services includes a sensor that generates a signal representative of the at least one of the position of the seat, the presence of passenger in the seat, the position of the at least one hand of the passenger, the configuration of the at least one hand of the passenger and the direction of movement of the at least one hand of the passenger. A first light source, an air supply, and a window shade are disposed at a predetermined locations with respect to the seat. A controller, connected to the sensor, generates a control signal that controls at least one parameter associated with at least one of light generated by the first light source, air supplied by the air supply and a degree of openness of the window shade.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 20, 2015
Date of Patent: December 4, 2018
    Assignee: BOMBARDIER INC.

A first light source, which generates a first light column, is located forward of the seat. A second light source, which generates a second light column, is located rearward of the seat. A controller generates a control signal that controls at least one parameter associated with an intensity, a color, a projected pattern, projected pattern location, or a width formed by a combination of the first and second light columns.

  • Patent number: 10093419
Abstract: A passenger service system includes a seat, a first sensor associated with the seat that senses a position of the seat and generates a first signal, a second sensor associated with the seat that senses the presence of a passenger in the seat and generates a second signal, a first light source disposed at a predetermined location with respect to the seat, where the first light source generates light, a third sensor associated with the first light source that senses at least a position of at least one hand of the passenger and generate a third signal, and a controller that receives the first signal, a first light signal that controls at least one parameter associated with the light including at least one of an intensity, a color, a projected pattern, projected pattern location, or a width.
