  • Publication number: 20230341061
Abstract: A check valve assembly may include a guide for a closure member on an upstream side the closure member and may include guide members disposed on both the upstream and downstream sides of the closure member. The closure member may include a conically shaped head of a poppet, and elongated stems may extend from the head to the upstream and downstream guide members. The guide members may include bores to receive the stems along a longitudinal axis of the check valve assembly on opposite sides of the closure member. This arrangement distributes the wear on a valve seat and the closure member more uniformly and may increase the service life of the check valve assembly. The check valve assembly may operate in surface locations or may be deployed downhole.

  • Publication number: 20230279758
Abstract: The disclosure presents systems and methods for hot swapping pumps at a wellsite while minimizing the impact to the pumping operations. As one pump is swapped out, such as for maintenance, the remaining pumps in the set of pumps at the wellsite can continue pumping operations. In some aspects, the swapping of pumps can be performed by a user using a protection barrier to isolate the pump location where the pumps will be swapped. In some aspects, one or more of the steps to swap pumps can be performed through automation thereby minimizing danger to a user. In some aspects, the pump being located at the pump system can be primed and pressure tested prior to be located to improve the time to enable the pump for pumping operations.

  • Publication number: 20230279759
Abstract: The disclosure presents systems and methods for hot swapping pumps at a wellsite while minimizing the impact to the pumping operations. As one pump is swapped out, such as for maintenance, the remaining pumps in the set of pumps at the wellsite can continue pumping operations. In some aspects, the pumps can be arranged around a central open area where the manifold pipes are located on the outside perimeter. This arrangement allows for a pump moving apparatus to remove and locate pumps at various positions around the perimeter while minimizing movement and minimizing the time the pump moving apparatus spends off of matting. The pump moving apparatus can be shielded with a protective barrier to protect the equipment or user from discharges from other pumps that are under high pressure.

  • Patent number: 10763063
Abstract: A pressure switch system provides a safety mechanism for equipment at a well site environment to prevent the opening or release of certain components when an unsafe condition exists. A pressure switch assembly of the system includes a diaphragm that transitions to an extended position as pressure of a pressurized fluid is flowed through a fluid pathway of the assembly. The diaphragm couples to a pin that transitions along with a dart based on the pressure at the diaphragm. When pressure reaches or exceeds a threshold, the dart is transitioned to a location proximate to a sensor. The sensor triggers actuation of a switch to prevent release or opening of a remote connector of a hydraulics unit until the pressure is at or falls below the threshold. The threshold is set to a pressure based on the unsafe condition.
