Patent number: 8110934Abstract: An apparatus for producing electricity includes an elongated body and an electricity generating device operatively connected to the elongated body. A drive shaft is positioned along the elongated body, the drive shaft having an input and an output. A driven shaft is positioned along the elongated body and spaced apart from the drive shaft, the driven shaft having an input and an output, the output driving the electricity generating device. There is a first mechanical linkage between the drive shaft and the driven shaft. A method of producing electricity includes positioning a combustion engine powered vehicle over at least a portion of the apparatus, mechanically linking an output shaft of the combustion engine powered device to the input of the drive shaft, and powering the electricity generating device with the combustion engine powered vehicle.Type: GrantFiled: May 27, 2009Date of Patent: February 7, 2012Inventors: Joe Gezel, Brad Ross

Patent number: 6601850Abstract: A game and its associated method of play. The game contains a plurality of object areas in which game objects may be placed. Game objects are randomly added to, or removed from, the object areas one by one. Before the addition or removal of each new object, the player is made to visualize a neutral field of play that is either completely filled with game objects or devoid of game objects. As such, each time a player views the object areas, an additional game object has been added or removed, but the player does not know which object has just been added. Using memories of the object areas when last viewed, a player tries to identify which of the game objects present is the game object that was just added or removed. If the player selects correctly, the cycle is repeated and another game object is randomly added or removed. If the player selects the wrong game object, the game ends.Type: GrantFiled: October 17, 2001Date of Patent: August 5, 2003Inventor: Brad Ross

Patent number: 5920133Abstract: Improved flexures and flexure assemblies are taught for use in thermal regenerative machines. In one aspect, the flexure is a flat spring formed from a flat metal sheet having kerfs forming axially movable arms across them, and at least one aperture communicating with and extending from an end portion of the kerf. One variation includes a flexure bearing assembly having such a flexure. In accordance with another aspect, a thermodynamic machine has a housing carried stator and a piston and linear moving element carried by a flexure bearing assembly. In accordance with yet another aspect, a piston and displacer assembly are configured to be movably supported together within a chamber in a housing of a thermal regenerative machine via a flexure assembly.Type: GrantFiled: August 29, 1996Date of Patent: July 6, 1999Assignee: Stirling Technology CompanyInventors: Laurence B. Patent number: 5895033Abstract: A passive balance system for counterbalancing vibrations of a machine is taught. The passive balance system includes a support member adapted to be fixedly carried by the machine and a flexure assembly carried by the support member. The flexure assembly is in the form of at least one flat spring including connections along a central portion. The central portion is fixedly mounted to the support member, and an outer peripheral portion of the flat spring provides at least in part a movable counterbalance mass. The flexure assembly presents the counterbalance mass for movement in substantial alignment with a desired rectilinear component of vibration of the machine to counterbalance vibrations emanating therefrom. A vibration balanced machine having the passive balance system is also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: November 13, 1996Date of Patent: April 20, 1999Assignee: Stirling Technology CompanyInventors: Brad Ross, Ronald W.
