  • Publication number: 20250196308
Abstract: A power tool includes a housing, a drive unit, and an impact mechanism. The drive unit is supported by the housing and includes a motor configured to drive rotation of an output shaft to provide a torque output. The impact mechanism is supported by the housing. The impact mechanism includes a camshaft, a first mass, a second mass, an anvil, and a spring. The camshaft receives the torque output from the drive unit. The first mass is mounted to the camshaft and is configured to translate along the camshaft. The second mass is mounted to the camshaft. • Publication number: 20250135611
Abstract: An impact tool including a housing, a motor having an output shaft rotatable about a first axis, and an impact mechanism. The impact mechanism includes a camshaft, an anvil, and a hammer configured to reciprocate along the camshaft to impart rotational impacts to the anvil in a first operating mode and to directly drive the anvil in a second operating mode. The impact tool further includes a crankshaft coupled to the anvil for co-rotation with the anvil, a yoke driven by the crankshaft to reciprocate about a second axis perpendicular to the first axis, an output drive, and a pawl configured to selectively couple the output drive to the yoke for co-rotation with the yoke in a first rotational locking direction about the second axis and to permit the yoke to rotate relative to the pawl in a second rotational locking direction about the second axis.

  • Publication number: 20250001572
Abstract: An anvil configured to be impacted by a hammer in an impact wrench. The anvil defines a rotational axis. The anvil includes an anvil lug having a driven surface engageable with the hammer. The driven surface includes an involute profile. The involute profile is formed by a base cylinder defining a central axis. The central axis is offset from the rotational axis of the anvil.

  • Publication number: 20240342888
Abstract: An anvil for an impact tool including an impact receiving portion at an end of the anvil, the impact receiving portion including a lug having an impact receiving surface that receives impact from a hammer of the rotary power tool, a shank portion extending from the impact receiving portion, a drive portion located at an end of the shank portion opposite from the impact receiving portion, the drive portion including a plurality of drive surfaces configured to engage a tool bit, and a hardened layer formed on at least one of the drive portion or the impact receiving surface, the hardened layer having a higher hardness than a remaining portion of the anvil. The hardened layer is formed by a heating process.

  • Publication number: 20240342874
Abstract: A rotary impact tool including a motor housing, an electric motor supported in the motor housing, and a drive assembly for converting a continuous torque input from the motor to consecutive rotational impacts upon a workpiece. The drive assembly includes an anvil including an anvil lug, and a hammer that is both rotationally and axially movable relative to the anvil. The hammer includes a hammer lug for imparting the consecutive rotational impacts upon the anvil lug. The rotary impact tool further includes a first printed circuit board assembly including an anvil sensor, a first carrier supporting the first printed circuit board assembly, a second printed circuit board assembly including a hammer sensor, and a second carrier supporting the second printed circuit board assembly.
