  • Patent number: 4515202
Abstract: An environmental curtain for closing a doorway, including elongated, flexible strips having their upper ends formed into loops and a curtain support extending through the loops to suspend the flexible strips within the doorway. The upper end portion of at least one of the flexible strips has a head, a neck which is narrower than the head, and an opening. The head can be inserted through the opening to place the neck within the opening to quickly and easily form the upper end portion of that flexible strip into a loop.

  • Patent number: 4240624
Abstract: A hand grip exercise device comprising an elongated enclosure having a cavity therein. The enclosure is of a size to be grasped and squeezed by a hand of the user. The enclosure has a peripheral wall which is resiliently deformable and which can be deformed radially inwardly. Resilient deformable material is provided in the cavity so that manual deformation of the peripheral wall radially inwardly resiliently deforms the material. This increases the squeezing force which the user must apply to the peripheral wall to deform it radially inwardly.

  • Patent number: 4218057
Abstract: An arm exerciser for runners comprising a hand grip having a peripheral wall, an end wall and a hand grip passage. A tube is received within the hand grip. A weight comprising metal is provided within the tube, and the outer end of the tube is closed.

  • Patent number: 4201382
Abstract: A skip rope comprising an elongated flexible element having first and second end portions and handles attached, respectively, to the end portions. Each of the handles includes a tubular hand grip having a passage opening at the inner end of the hand grip and a tubular retainer in the passage of the tube. The first end portion of the flexible element extends through the tube and is attached to a bearing. The bearing is retained in the passage of the hand grip between the outer end of the retainer and a transverse wall of the hand grip.

  • Patent number: 4193593
Abstract: An extendable and rotatable exercising device comprising outer and inner tubes which can be manually grasped and pulled generally axially from a collapsed position to an extended position. An elongated resilient element extends through the inner tube and is attached to the opposite ends thereof. The resilient element is prestressed and acts to resiliently resist movement of the tubes from the collapsed position toward the extended position. The tubes are relatively axially rotatable to allow the wrists of the user to be exercised.

  • Patent number: 4109906
Abstract: A skip rope comprising first and second end sections and a resilient central section removably coupled to the end sections. The central section is heavier per unit of length than either of the end sections and is also less flexible. A plurality of the central sections having different characteristics are provided.

  • Patent number: 4057246
Abstract: A multi-purpose exerciser comprising first and second elongated flexible elements and a tube having a passage extending therethrough. The first and second elongated flexible elements extend through the passage of the tube. The first elongated flexible element includes first and second elongated flexible segments projecting from opposite ends of the passage of the tube, and the second elongated flexible element includes third and fourth elongated flexible segments projecting from opposite ends of the passage of the tube. Each of the elongated flexible segments has an outer end remote from the tube. Handles are provided on each of the elongated flexible segments adjacent each of the outer ends thereof. The tube is of sufficient length to be grasped by a user during an exercise. The tube holds the elongated flexible elements together for the complete length of the tube.
