  • Patent number: 11504154
Abstract: Prostate biopsy systems are provided that include a 3D ultrasound probe support configured to receive an ultrasound probe for transperineal imaging. One or more template grids can have a plurality of apertures extending therethrough to receive and guide a biopsy needle along a trajectory associated with respective apertures when the template grid is fixed to the support and the biopsy system is positioned in the perineal area of a patient. Patient-specific template grids can also be developed and produced. This system enables fully transperineal prostate biopsy (i.e. both imaging and needle placement are perineal) and eliminates the need for an external racking device for image fusion as well as needle tracking. In addition, it reduces the infection risk associated to transrectal approach.

  • Patent number: 11481250
Abstract: A first workgroup is preempted in response to threads in the first workgroup executing a first wait instruction including a first value of a signal and a first hint indicating a type of modification for the signal. The first workgroup is scheduled for execution on a processor core based on a first context after preemption in response to the signal having the first value. A second workgroup is scheduled for execution on the processor core based on a second context in response to preempting the first workgroup and in response to the signal having a second value. A third context it is prefetched into registers of the processor core based on the first hint and the second value. The first context is stored in a first portion of the registers and the second context is prefetched into a second portion of the registers prior to preempting the first workgroup.

  • Patent number: 10907436
Abstract: An improved emergency power system is disclosed for providing electrical power to a load such as a blowout preventer of a petroleum drilling apparatus. The improved emergency power system comprises a thermal battery having an anode and a cathode with a separator containing an electrolyte disposed therebetween. An internal heat layer is located in proximity to the separator containing the electrolyte. A squib is provided for activating the internal heat layer. The thermal battery remains dormant until the squib is energized to ignite the squib enabling the heat layer to render the electrolyte molten thereby activating battery to provide electrical power to the load. The squib may be energized remotely, mechanically or electrically.

  • Publication number: 20190254624
Abstract: Imaging of internal structure of a patient, such as the prostate, is performed using ultrasound tomography by inserting a first ultrasound probe into the rectum of the patient, positioning a second ultrasound probe on an abdomen of the patient, and aligning the first and second ultrasound probes with one another to obtain acoustic information for reconstructing tomographic images of the internal structure. Light sources can also be shined to the tissue of interest, such as prostate say by a transurethral catheter thus making photoacoustic waves that can be received by the said TRUS or TRAB/TRPR transducers to reconstruct photoacoustic tomographic image of the tissue, as well.

  • Publication number: 20080071215
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing access to a target site. Example systems can include a needle and a grid to guide the needle. One system includes a plate with an aperture, a member coupled to the plate and including a semispherical surface, and a hub slideably coupled to the plate by a guide. The system can also include a lock mechanism configured to lock the hub relative to the plate on the guide, and a needle coupled to the hub, the needle including a magnetically trackable sensor positioned in a tip of the needle. The semispherical surface of the member can be positioned against skin of a body and the hub slid relative to the plate along the guide to insert the needle through the aperture in the plate into the body until the tip reaches a target site. The hub can be locked by the lock mechanism when the tip of the needle reaches the target site, and an ablation agent is delivered to the target site through the needle, or a tissue sample is obtained.
