Patent number: 11391101Abstract: The invention provides a bit breaker comprising a generally flat plate that defines two arms and a base leg. The two arms project respectively from opposed ends of the base leg. The bit breaker has a generally rectangular pipe slot located between the two arms. The bit breaker includes a jaw mounted on one of the arms so as to be removable therefrom when damaged and thereafter replaced with a new jaw. The jaw defines a working surface located on a side of the pipe slot. In some embodiments, the bit breaker further comprises a security plate attached to the generally flat plate so as to define a mount space between the generally flat plate and the security plate. The jaw is received in the mount space such that the jaw has limited freedom of movement relative to both the generally flat plate and the security plate.Type: GrantFiled: August 9, 2021Date of Patent: July 19, 2022Assignee: FALCON TOOLS, LLCInventors: Bradley A. Patent number: 11085254Abstract: The invention provides a bit breaker comprising a plate that bounds a pipe slot. The bit breaker has two jaws that are at least generally parallel and that respectively define two working surfaces located on opposite sides of the pipe slot. The jaws are each mounted removably to the plate. In some embodiments, the invention is an assembly that further includes a pipe, tool section, tool or pipe joint received in the pipe slot. The pipe, tool section, tool or pipe joint has formed therein two crosswise grooves located on opposite sides of the pipe, tool section, tool or pipe joint. In some embodiments, the plate defines two fixed arms and a fixed base leg, with the two jaws mounted respectively against the two fixed arms. The bit breaker can have an adjustable arm such that the pipe slot can be surrounded about 360 degrees by the bit breaker.Type: GrantFiled: November 21, 2018Date of Patent: August 10, 2021Assignee: FALCON TOOLS, LLCInventors: Bradley A. Patent number: 10655356Abstract: A pole reinforcement system and method for improving the stability of a pole with both an above-grade and below-grade installation. The pole reinforcement system generally includes a sleeve assembly which is secured around a pole via one or more retainers which may comprise brackets, securing bands, or other structures. One or more insertion attachments are utilized so that the sleeve assembly may be secured to the pole at a position below-grade. The sleeve assembly may comprise one or more sleeves which are secured around the pole. By utilizing the present invention to reinforce the pole both above- and below-grade, the stability of the pole may be greatly improved over prior reinforcement methods.Type: GrantFiled: September 25, 2017Date of Patent: May 19, 2020Assignee: PermaPole LLCInventors: Bradley A. Odegard, William Riddle, Douglas S. Cairns, Robert P. Plagemann
