  • Publication number: 20230321851
Abstract: The present invention relates to improvements in the field of tools, such as utility knives. The tool features a battery powered illumination element that allows the user to illuminate the working surface and working edge. This enhances working with a tool or utility knife in conditions where there is inadequate light. The user can press a button on the handle to activate or deactivate the light without deploying the blade, and the batteries that power the light may be replaced or recharged as needed.

  • Patent number: 10427398
Abstract: A squeegee device for a printing press, which prints a printing material, at at least one printing point, in accordance with a screen printing process, comprises a screen printing screen, a squeegee which is one of set against the screen printing screen in a thrown-on position and can be set against the screen printing screen In a thrown-on position, a bearing device which makes a throwing-on and throwing-off movement possible between the thrown-on position of the squeegee and a thrown-off position, and a drive device, by the use of which, the squeegee can be set against the screen printing screen and can be set away from the latter during operation in a manner which is correlated to a press or printing material phase position. The drive device is set up to one of bring about and to make possible throwing-on and throwing-off of the squeegee in sequences which differ from one another in one of different positions and the phase lengths in relation to the length of the screen printing screen.

  • Patent number: 10220608
Abstract: There is described an inking apparatus of a printing press, in particular an offset or letterpress printing press, comprising at least one ink duct (11, 12) with an ink supply roller (13, 14), an ink roller train (30) comprising at least one inking roller (31) which receives ink from the at least one ink duct (11, 12), and at least one vibrator roller (15, 16) interposed between the ink supply roller (13, 4) and the inking roller (31), which vibrator roller (15, 16) is swung back and forth between the ink supply roller (13, 14) and the inking roller (31) and intermittently transfers ink from the ink supply roller (13, 14) to the inking roller (31). A circumference of the vibrator roller (15, 16) exhibits an ink-transfer 10 structure (15a, 16a) which reflects a desired inking profile of a printing plate to be inked by the inking apparatus and is designed to modulate a quantity of ink transferred by the vibrator roller (15, 16).

  • Patent number: 10016971
Abstract: There is described a printing press (100) comprising a printing group (2) adapted to apply on a substrate at least one ink or varnish vehicle containing magnetic or magnetisable flakes and at least one magnetic orientation unit (10) located downstream of the printing group (2) along a path of the substrate, which magnetic orientation unit (10) includes at least one magnetic-field-inducing device (12) adapted to orient the magnetic or magnetisable flakes contained in the ink or varnish vehicle applied on the substrate to induce an optically-variable effect in the ink or varnish vehicle. The printing press (100) further comprises a drying/curing unit (15) located along the path of the substrate and cooperating with the magnetic orientation unit (10), which drying/curing unit (15) is adapted to dry or cure the ink or varnish vehicle applied on the substrate following orientation of the magnetic or magnetisable flakes.

  • Publication number: 20050111531
Abstract: Disclosed are a system, method and device for negotiating a data transmission mode over an attachment unit interface (DDI). A data transceiver circuit may be coupled to one or more data lanes of the DDI. A negotiation section may receive a link pulse signal on at least one data lane in the DDI during a negotiation period and selectively configure the data transceiver to transmit and receive data on one or more data lanes according to a data transmission mode based upon the received link pulse signal.

  • Publication number: 20050044257
Abstract: Described are a device and system to transmit data to or receive data from one or more data lane interfaces. Each data lane interface may be capable of transmitting a serial data signal to or receiving a serial data signal from a data lane in a device-to-device interconnection. An effective data rate may be varied based, at least in part, upon a number of the data lane interfaces actively transmitting a serial data signal to or receiving a serial data signal from the device-to-device interconnection.
