  • Patent number: 5531814
Abstract: Hard surfaces are polished by applying an abrasive free, preferably clear, composition formed from an aqueous phase and a silicone phase. The aqueous phase contains water and a water soluble hydrophilic organic solvent. The silicone phase contains a volatile methyl siloxane, a siloxane polyether, and an organosilicon resin.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 25, 1995
Date of Patent: July 2, 1996
    Assignee: Dow Corning Corporation
Inventors: Bradley C. Bahr, David B. Selley
  • Patent number: 5492691
Abstract: A clear antiperspirant gel is made by combining and mixing together (A) an astringent compound having a refractive index of 1.48 to 1.53 which is an antiperspirant salt in the form of (i) a tray dried compound, (ii) an encapsulated salt, or (iii) a solvent solution of a salt compound; and (B) a clear anhydrous organic oil free gel formed with a gelator which is 12-hydroxystearic acid or its metal salts, and an aromatic containing silicone fluid or blend of silicone fluids.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 7, 1994
Date of Patent: February 20, 1996
    Assignee: Dow Corning Corporation

  • Patent number: 5225188
Abstract: This invention relates to an underarm formulation containing volatile and/or non-volatile alkylmethylsiloxanes. Incorporation of such agents results in formulations which have beneficial effects such as decreased whitening, less crumbling, better compatibility, controlled vapor pressure and better aesthetics. In addition, use of these materials often results in processing advantages over the prior art.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 26, 1991
Date of Patent: July 6, 1993
    Assignee: Dow Corning Corporation
Inventors: Eric S. Abrutyn, Bradley C. Bahr, Gary E. Legrow, William J. Schulz, Jr.
  • Patent number: 5145977
Abstract: There is disclosed a herbicide composition in which a postemergent herbicide is activated by the inclusion of a silicone glycol adjuvant consisting essentially of (i) a silicone glycol having an average structure ##STR1## wherein Me denotes a methyl radical, and (ii) a silicone glycol dispersant compound for component (i). When compared to similar prior art silicone glycol adjuvants not having an acetoxy terminated glycol chain, the compositions of the present invention provide enhanced rainfastness in the control of weeds, particularly velvetleaf plants.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 26, 1990
Date of Patent: September 8, 1992
    Assignee: Dow Corning Corporation
Inventors: Lenin J. Petroff, David J. Romenesko, Bradley C. Bahr
  • Patent number: 5136068
Abstract: The specification discloses an organopolysiloxane-polyoxyalkylene emulsifier for polar in nonpolar liquid emulsions wherein organopolysiloxane-polyoxyalkylene polymer molecules are intentionally cross linked through a cross linking agent joined thereto by nonhydrolyzable bonds and being free of internal hydrolyzable bonds.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 26, 1989
Date of Patent: August 4, 1992
    Assignee: Dow Corning Corporation
Inventors: Bradley C. Bahr, Peter Y. Lo, A. Wade Lomas, David J. Romenesko
