  • Patent number: 10688242
Abstract: Devices and methods for obtaining high flow rates in a port catheter system, and devices and methods for using a high flow rate port catheter system are disclosed. In one embodiment, a reservoir is dedicated for aspiration and a separate reservoir is dedicated for infusion. Fluid flow channels associated with aspiration are larger than the fluid flow channels associated with infusion. The catheter connected to the port can have an offset tip configuration. Methods for accessing the port are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 10493257
Abstract: Devices and methods for cleaning a port, including a port reservoir and other aspects of the port, whereby a trocar/cannula assembly is introduced to the port reservoir. The trocar is withdrawn from the port reservoir, providing access to the reservoir. A cleaning member is then advanced through the cannula, and can remove an unwanted material therefrom.

  • Publication number: 20180008809
Abstract: Devices and methods for cleaning a port reservoir are disclosed. The system includes a trocar, cannula and cleaning member. In one embodiment, the cleaning member has scraping members disposed at its distal end for mechanical breakup of thrombus formation. The cleaning member can also have a lumen for infusing anti-coagulant fluid and aspirating loose pieces of thrombus formation.

  • Patent number: 9713704
Abstract: A method for cleaning a port reservoir, the method comprising: providing a port reservoir cleaning system, the system comprising: a trocar comprising a proximal end and distal end, the distal end terminating in a sharp tip, a cannula comprising a proximal end, a distal end and a cannula lumen extending therebetween, and a cleaning member comprising a proximal end, a distal end, a shaft and a cleaning member lumen extending therebetween, wherein a portion of the distal end of the shaft is flexible; advancing the trocar and cannula as an assembly through a septum fluidly sealing the port reservoir; withdrawing the trocar from the cannula lumen; advancing the distal end of the cleaning member through the cannula lumen and into the reservoir; rotating the cleaning member; and supplying negative pressure to a lumen of the cleaning member.
