  • Patent number: 7244193
Abstract: A method of playing golf including the steps of: obtaining a golf ball having a first state wherein the golf ball has a first performance characteristic and a second state resulting from immersion of the golf ball in water for a time period greater than two days and less than one hundred eighty days in which the golf ball has a second performance characteristic that is different than the first performance characteristic; striking the golf ball into an accumulation of water using a golf club; and allowing the golf ball to remain immersed in the accumulation of water for more than two days so that the golf ball is caused by the water to be changed from the first state into the second state in a time period less than one hundred eighty days.

  • Publication number: 20060273663
Abstract: An automatic switched power circuit with automatic shutoff under standby power conditions comprises a power outlet including first and second terminals for connection to a power source and first and second sockets for receiving a plug of a powered device. The first terminal is electrically connected to the first socket. A switch is electrically connected between the second terminal and the second socket. A sensor senses power drawn through the power outlet. A control circuit is coupled to the sensor and the switch. The control circuit determines if power drawn through the power outlet comprises standby power and in response thereto operates the switch to disconnect the second terminal and the second socket.

  • Publication number: 20050226961
Abstract: The combination of a container having a storage space with a supply of an alcoholic beverage and a closure system that is operatively engageable with the container. The container has an unopened state and an opened state. The alcoholic beverage is confined to the storage space with the container in the unopened state and capable of being dispensed from the storage space for consumption with the container in the opened state. The container is detectably changeable as an incident of the container being changed from the unopened state into the opened state in a manner that the container cannot be changed from the opened state precisely back into the unopened state, as a consequence of which it can be determined by inspection that the container was changed from the unopened state into the opened state. The closure system has first and second different states.

  • Patent number: 6109462
Abstract: An article hanger having a frame made from formed wire elements defining a bottom wall to support an article and a peripheral wall projecting upwardly from the bottom wall, with the bottom wall and peripheral wall cooperatively defining an upwardly opening receptacle for an article. The frame has a front and rear, a top and bottom, and laterally spaced sides. The receptacle has a width between the sides of the frame. The frame has laterally spaced first and second sections, each defining a part of the bottom wall and the peripheral wall. The first and second frame sections are relatively repositionable between a) a first relative position wherein the receptacle has a first width and b) a second relative position wherein the receptacle has a second width that is different than the first width.

  • Patent number: 5784972
Abstract: A stand for supporting articles in an elevated position on a subjacent surface, which stand has a shelf with a support surface for an article, a base, and first structure cooperating between the base and shelf for allowing selective placement of the base and shelf in a) an operative state wherein the shelf is stably supported on the base so that the support surface is in an elevated position relative to a subjacent surface on which the base is placed, and b) a disassembled state wherein at least a part of the shelf is separated from the base. The first structure allows the shelf and base to be releasably maintained in a predetermined relative position in the operative state without the need for separate fasteners.
