  • Patent number: 11960041
Abstract: A system for collecting and managing parametric data via an external communications network comprises one or more parametric stations operatively connected via the external network to a certification server and a payout server. Each parametric station is configured to receive parametric data from a remote source, determine that the parametric data satisfies a predetermined condition, and transmit the parametric data over the external network to the certification server in response to the parametric data satisfying the predetermined condition. The certification server is configured to generate a certification report based on the parametric data and a data model related to the remote source and transmit the generated certification report to the payout server. The payout server is configured to determine that terms of an associated contract are satisfied based on the certification report, and trigger a payout based on the terms that are satisfied based on the certification report.

  • Publication number: 20240087259
Abstract: A method is provided for displaying an augmented reality (AR) representation of physical effects and property damage resulting from a parametric earthquake event. The method includes scanning, using one or more sensors of a user device, a scene in proximity to a user. The method also includes identifying a background and objects in the scene. The method further includes creating an AR background for the background of the scene and AR objects for the objects in the scene. In addition, the method includes receiving at least one seismic characteristic from the user through the display of the user device. The method additionally includes displaying at least one seismic effect on the AR objects and the AR background in the scene based on the at least one received seismic characteristic.

  • Patent number: 11460592
Abstract: A system for collecting and managing seismic data via an external communications network comprises one or more seismic stations, each including a seismic measurement apparatus producing seismic signals, a station processor converting the signals to seismic data, a station memory securely storing the seismic data on site and a station communication interface transmitting the seismic data onto an external network. The system further comprises one or more data servers, each including a server computing device, a server communication interface receiving the seismic data from the seismic stations and a server memory storing the received seismic data. The data server can determine if the received seismic data satisfies predetermined conditions for certification and/or triggering a payout in accordance with a contract, and can thereafter transmit the appropriate data signals to another location on the external communications network.

  • Publication number: 20210209605
Abstract: A method and system for multi-trigger parametric data management and associated transactions is provided. The parametric triggers can include measured wind speed occurring at predetermined geographic locations, calculated wind speed at a predetermined geographic locations, reported storm track and wind speed/category at a predetermined distance from a reference location and/or measured tide levels occurring at predetermined geographic locations. The multiple triggers are evaluated by the disclosed process to evaluate whether indicated threshold levels are exceeded such that conditions for full or fractional payout are achieved.

  • Patent number: 5174204
Abstract: This invention relates to a new type of decorative design and the method of producing said design. The process includes making an illustration of a picture or photograph, scanning said illustration while deleting part of the illustration, silk screening said scanned illustration with ultra-ink onto a substrate, and then cutting said substrate into a chosen article. The resulting article has a large part of the substrate without any ink on it, so as to give the design a three-dimensional look.
