  • Publication number: 20230153793
Abstract: Provided are a re-using e-commerce payment instruments for in-store purchasing systems and methods. A customer enters a check out and a transaction at the point of sale is started. The system receives a pairing request at a wallet processor from a customer mobile device operating a mobile application. This pairing request is created and sent in response to scanning of a code having a transaction identification. The system associates a customer payment profile with the transaction identification and sends associated information to the point of sale. The point of sale sends an amount of sale to authorize to the wallet processor after completing scanning of items. The system creates an authorization for payment and sending the authorization for payment to an authorizer. The transaction may then be completed by processing payment.

  • Publication number: 20210004784
Abstract: Provided are check-in to checkout systems and methods. The system includes a point of sale, a display, a mobile device, and a backend system. When the POS starts a transaction, such as, but not limited to scanning an item, the POS generates a transaction/basket identification. In response to starting the transaction, the POS sends the transaction/basket ID to the display in the form of a QR code or one-dimensional barcode. The mobile device operating a mobile application scans and captures the displayed code and reports to the backend systems. The backend systems then send a check-in event, which includes gathered data by the backend systems, to the POS and the POS acknowledges receipt of the message. At this point, a notification may be sent to the mobile application that the check-in was successful and a link is established for flow of information.

  • Patent number: 10368187
Abstract: Described in detail herein are methods and systems to identify available location-based services using a mobile application on a mobile computing device. The mobile application receives a code from a location-specific computing device and uses the code to identify available types of services supported at the location of the location-specific computing device. A services management framework determines what ordered services are available at the location. A user uses the mobile computing device to scan a machine-readable element at the location to initiate performance of at least one of the available ordered services.

  • Publication number: 20180285853
Abstract: Provided is a merchant split tender system and method. A cashier completes a scan of merchandise and enters tendering phase. The point of sale sends a the request to authorize a total dollar amount to a wallet processor. The wallet processor accesses a customer payment profile to determine if there is a split tender configuration. If there is a split tender configuration, the wallet processor determines a first account and a second account to use for providing tender for the purchase. The first account and the second account to use is determined by the customer payment profile. The first account may be authorized first and then the second account may be authorized for the remaining amount. The system may also use more than two accounts. This process happens automatically based on the customer payment profile.

  • Publication number: 20180040043
Abstract: A simulation module is embedded in a popular video game which simulates the functioning and use of one or more new subsystems. The game is chosen to be one which would possibly implement one of these subsystems in the course of the game. One such new subsystem may be a mobile payment system in which a user can pay for items using his/her smartphone. The simulation module may show a simulated mobile phone and allow the user to operate the simulated smartphone to buy items within the video game, using credits accumulated while playing the video game. The user's operation of the simulation module is monitored by a monitoring module and processed by an analysis module. This may alter the difficulty level of the game or activate or deactivate various simulations of subsystems.

  • Publication number: 20170243206
Abstract: Provided are common user experience for a mobile wallet system and methods. The system may include generally a mobile application operated on a mobile device, a mobile backend, a wallet broker, a point of sale (“POS”), and authorizer(s). The system allows a customer to receive encoded/encrypted data by scanning a code, or by receiving a wireless message, such as a Bluetooth low energy transmission or a near field communication, regardless of the mobile application or operating system. Mobile backend systems translate the messages so the customer does not have to do something different for different mobile applications. The system may alternatively allow a cashier to scan a participating mobile application's code such as a QR code/barcode. Mobile backend systems determine which wallet to communicate with and does so on the POS behalf. The POS is isolated from complexities of integrating with different mobile applications and corresponding backend systems.
