  • Patent number: 5974589
Abstract: A method of making a latex article, by contacting a latex article with water, an aqueous emulsion comprising a high-density, substantially linear hydrocarbon polymer, and an acid-activated oxidizing agent or initiator, mixing in an acid to the reaction mixture to activate the oxidizing agent or initiator, then, after a first selected period of time sufficient to adhere the polymer to the surface of the article, mixing a stopping agent into the activated reaction mixture to substantially reduce or halt the oxidization and, after a second selected period of time sufficient to reduce substantially or halt oxidization, neutralizing the article with a neutralization mixture comprising water and a base.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 13, 1998
Date of Patent: November 2, 1999
    Assignee: LRC Products, Ltd.

  • Patent number: 4795425
Abstract: A spermicidal contraceptive sheath and method of manufacture are disclosed. The sheath has a first spermicide-containing semi-solid inside the sheath at the closed end thereof. A spermicide-containing lubricant is provided at least on the outside surface of the sheath. A dose of spermicide is automatically provided both on the outside of the sheath and on the inside. If the sheath ruptures, a double dosage of spermicide is available to provide an extra measure of contraceptive effectiveness.

  • Patent number: 3942193
Abstract: A thin-walled latex dental glove and a method of manufacturing the dental glove are disclosed. The method includes providing a mold for the dental glove, covering at least a portion of the mold with liquid uncured latex material, at least partially curing the latex material to form a glove body, and removing the glove body from the mold. The glove body is then covered with a liquid slurry containing a dusting powder and an adhesive agent and a flavor agent to wet both the interior and the exterior of the glove body with the slurry. The wetted glove body is then tumble dried at an elevated temperature to simultaneously further cure the latex and dry the water from the slurry. The dried slurry forms a substantially uniform coating substantially fully covering both the interior and exterior of the glove body.
