  • Patent number: 11096466
Abstract: A nail polish application system may include a nail polish applicator to apply a curable nail polish to a nail of a user. An energy source may emit energy to selectively cure the curable nail polish. A sensor may be provided to detect a boundary of the nail of the user. The energy source may be configured to direct the energy to (i) the detected boundary of the nail during a first curing stage or (ii) to an area within the detected boundary of the nail during the first curing stage, and to (iii) avoid directing the energy to an area outside the detected boundary of the nail during the first curing stage.

  • Publication number: 20210186176
Abstract: A method of applying a curable formulation to an object includes positioning an amount of formulation on a surface before curing the formulation, the formulation being curable by an electromagnetic energy. While the amount of formulation remains on the surface, a first amount of the electromagnetic energy may be directed to the formulation to cure a first area of the uncured formulation, while leaving a second area of the formulation uncured. Force may be applied to press the surface onto the object to transfer the second area of uncured formulation to the object. Some or all of the first area of cured formulation may remain on the surface as the second area of uncured formulation is transferred to the object. The formulation may be a nail polish formulation, and the object may be a fingernail of a user.

  • Patent number: 10259653
Abstract: A platform for providing omnidirectional movement includes a first moveable member, a second moveable member, and a drive system. The first moveable member has an exterior surface adapted to support an object and has a plurality of first grooves therein. The second moveable member has an exterior surface adapted to support the object and has a plurality of second grooves therein. The drive system is operably coupled to the first and second moveable members and is adapted to independently drive the first and second moveable members in a forward direction and a reverse direction. The pluralities of first and second grooves are adapted to interact with the object to move the object in any direction along the exterior surfaces of the first and second moveable members when the drive system is driving at least one of the first and second moveable members.

  • Publication number: 20170029263
Abstract: Methods and systems for accurately determining and delivering the appropriate ingredients, in appropriate quantities, of a particular substance are disclosed. In some instances, a controller of a fluid delivery device opens a valve for an appropriate amount of time to deliver an appropriate amount of fluid. In some instances, the appropriate amount of time is communicated to the controller by an external user device (e.g., a smartphone or a tablet).

  • Publication number: 20160021683
Abstract: A system and method for connecting and protecting people using a combination of (a) a “Private Personal Network” including a set of people who are defined as an individual's closest connections; (b) software that runs on mobile devices that manages, among other things, the members of the Private Personal Network, an individual's information, the connections to the Intelligent Electronics, and the connections to a cloud-based system; (c) a cloud based system that maintains connections among individuals, geographic data, and other data transmitted from the software on the mobile device, from the Intelligent Electronics, and from other sources; and (d) technology that receives and sends communication to the mobile device and is integrated with custom-designed wearable product.
