  • Publication number: 20120180674
Abstract: A grill insert may be placed within a pan or other cooking implement to hold food above a heat source and to keep fluids from contacting the food. As food cooks upon the grill insert, fluids may drain into lower chambers or reservoirs. The grill rods are shaped to focus heat upon the food and to maximize space for holding fluids released during the cooking process. The form of the grill insert may have an underside with a center void so as to conform to a typical pan having a raised center portion.

  • Patent number: 7086869
Abstract: In a flat flex cable, signal lines are surrounded by logic ground planes above and below which are viaed together left and right. The ground planes coupled with the flex cable dielectric determine characteristic the impedance and attenuation of the cable and provide differential signal EMI shielding. All signal layers and logic ground planes are enclosed within the two outermost shield layers which are viaed together left and right and around the connectors to enclose both signal layers and logic ground planes to provide common mode EMI shielding.

  • Publication number: 20060095230
Abstract: A system and method for improving diagnostic aids such as fault trees and repair manuals uses feedback in the form of repair data from a distributed base of data collection devices used by technicians. The data is processed by a data analysis computing unit. The computing unit determines proposed modifications to the diagnostic aid based on the data. A diagnostic tool editor is used by a subject matter expert to review the proposed modifications and either accept, reject, or modify the diagnostic aid. The modified aids are then made available to the service technicians in the field, improving their efficiency and ability to more quickly diagnose machine conditions. The disclosure is applicable to machines generally, including for example automobiles or components thereof, such as engines and transmissions.

  • Patent number: 7035989
Abstract: This functions maintains two trees: a fast access tree referring to memory blocks of a size most often requested, and a general access tree referring to memory blocks of a size less often requested. After satisfying a request for a memory block, the function adjusts the trees to ensure that the fast access tree refers to memory blocks of the size most often requested. By providing such functionality, the function improves its performance over time through self-adaptation.

  • Publication number: 20060085108
Abstract: A method is provided for updating a fault tree used in diagnosis of a condition of a machine. The fault tree is a sequence of test modules. Each of the test modules is assigned a confidence score indicating the likelihood that the test module will lead to a diagnosis. The method comprising the steps of obtaining service data from a plurality of service occasions for like machines, revising the confidence score for at least one test module in the fault tree based on the service data; and revising the sequence of the test modules in the fault tree based on the revised confidence score(s). The sequence is revised such that the most likely modules to result in a diagnosis are listed first, and the least likely ones are listed last. The re-ordering is based on feedback from actual service instances in the field, and thus is more likely to reflect real-world conditions. The result is that service technicians using the revised fault trees work more efficiently, at least on a statistical basis.

  • Publication number: 20050209799
Abstract: This invention relates to a maximization of the inferences which are derived from data involved in data processing representing asset modes based on applicable state representations. The maximization takes place using a single algorithm to automatically analyze information and infer from electric power turbine configurations.

  • Publication number: 20050178122
Abstract: A wastegate valve for a turbocharger that is separate from the turbocharger has an actuator mounted to a valve housing. The valve housing has a passage therethrough and a swing valve that opens and closes the passage. The swing valve has a pivot point that lies outside the path of the exhaust gases. The passage has a recess therein that receives a portion of the swing valve in its open position to improve the flow of exhaust gases through the passage. In an internal combustion engine system, the wastegate valve forms part of a bypass conduit that redirects a portion of the exhaust gases from an engine away from and past the turbocharger.

  • Patent number: 6389587
Abstract: Methods, systems, and articles of manufacture consistent with the present invention provides a development tool that enables computer programmers to design and develop a data flow program for execution in a multiprocessor computer system. The tool displays an interface that enables the programmer to define a region divided into multiple blocks, wherein each block is formed of a set of values associated with a function, and to define sets of the blocks, each block in a set having a state reflected by a designated portion of the program that when executed transforms the values forming the block based on the function. The interface also records any dependencies among the blocks, each dependency indicating a relationship between two blocks and requiring the portion of the program associated with a first block of the relationship to be executed before the portion of the program associated with a second block of the relationship.
