  • Patent number: 7540059
Abstract: A stop log slot/guide cleaning method and apparatus is disclosed as a frame with attached scraping or scrubbing devices attached in locations that will contact and shear off attached marine life or debris. A flushing system that using water or compressed air or both attached and located on the frame pushes the removed or loose debris off of the stop log slot/guide seating surfaces as the frame is lowered into or removed from the slot leaving clean flat sealing surfaces for the stop log seals to seal against.

  • Publication number: 20070196267
Abstract: Apparatus and process are provided to enable rapid start up of hydrogen generator (1) that use partial oxidation reforming. In the start up processes, a heated oxygen containing gas (110) is passed through the reformer (106) and at least one downstream unit operation (108) to achieve a first temperature regime. Then a heated steam containing gas is used to raise the temperatures of the reformer (106) and at least one downstream unit operation (108) to a second temperature regime at which partial oxidation reforming can be initiated.

  • Publication number: 20060140852
Abstract: Apparatus and processes for the generation of hydrogen from hydrocarbon feeds are provided in which organosulfur compound is removed from the feed. The apparatus and processes are particularly advantageous as smaller scale hydrogen generators including those generators intended for residential use to produce hydrogen for fuel cells to produce electricity. In the processes and apparatus, the feed is contacted with solid sorbent to remove organosulfur compound.

  • Publication number: 20060096175
Abstract: Hydrogen generators and integrated hydrogen generator/fuel cells systems are operated by determining the condition of the hydrogen generator and the condition of the fuel to the hydrogen generator for selection of predetermined flow rates for each of the externally-provided raw materials. The processes of the invention can provide rapid transitions between hydrogen production rates while enabling enhanced efficiency and stability during transient operations.

  • Patent number: 6957509
Abstract: A decoy rig 100 is described having a number of individual decoys 102 deployed at intervals along the length of a shaft 104. The decoys 102 are deployed at an angle relative to the shaft 104 axis, and oriented around the shaft 104 diameter similar to the blades of a turbine rotor in relation to a turbine shaft. When driven by natural forces the anchor 110 holds decoy rig 100 in place against water or air flow inducing a differential pressure across the decoys 102 providing the motive force to rotate the decoy rig 100. In operation, the decoy rig 100 floats centered at or near the water surface and is moved by external forces such as wind, water current or tide, or may be mechanically driven thus causing 360 degree revolution movement by the individual decoys 102, effectively simulating the diving and feeding action of the decoy's live counterparts.

  • Patent number: 6746375
Abstract: Hydrotherapy apparatus is described comprising a tank for containing water and having a moving belt above the tank floor for the user to walk upon, the tank having a door which when raised seals the tank and when lowered forms a ramp to enable the user to enter the tank onto the belt.

  • Publication number: 20040045210
Abstract: A decoy rig is disclosed having a number of individual decoys deployed at intervals along the length of a shaft, and oriented around the diameter of a shaft. The decoys may be deployed at an angle relative to vertical. In operation, the individual decoys are caused to move by external forces, such as wind, water current or tide, or other forces, thus causing rotational movement by the individual decoys, effectively simulating the resting and feeding action of the decoy's live counterparts.

  • Publication number: 20030051677
Abstract: An animal hydrotherapy pool is described comprising a container for water having nozzle means in a wall of the container directing in use one or more jets of water into the water in the container. An extension to a wall of the container forms a housing in which is located pump means adapted to re-circulate water to and from the container via the nozzle means. Pump control means is also located in the housing thereby to be accessible in use to a person controlling an animal using the pool. A second pump draws water from near the surface of the water in the pool through a skimmer, and returns the water to the pool via a water treatment path. The latter comprises a heater, a sand filter, and an ozonator, and as described, all the water treatment devices are incorporated in the housing extension.

  • Publication number: 20020148412
Abstract: An animal hydrotherapy pool comprising a water container (10), controllable water jet nozzles (18, 18A) through which the water is recirculated, and preferably a ramp means (22, 24) for leading an animal into and out the pool with the aid of a collar attachable guide pole.

  • Patent number: RE37209
Abstract: An extension deceleration orthotic fulcrum for knee and elbow braces, which simulates performance of the function of those ligaments that control joint motion and provide provides anteroposterior joint stability, comprising a lightweight, external spring assembly, upper and lower elongated arms, and a centric or polycentric fulcrum, which is adjustable for its range of motion, adaptable for use on many different style orthoses, and whose strength can be varied to suit corrective, preventive, anthropomorphic, environmental, and usage requirements, including means both for mechanically dampening the limb's angular velocity on extension to prevent hyperextension and for accelerating the limb's angular velocity on flexion to enable quicker, smoother, less stressful motion.
