A user watching content on a display device may use a device, such as a mobile device, to select a portion of the content to share. An interface on the display device or the mobile device may be used to select the portion of the content to share, to edit the selected portion, and to comment on the selected portion, among other editing features. The mobile device may send information identifying the selected portion to a server, and the server may generate one or more playlists for the selected portion. The one or more playlists may be generated based on the information received from the mobile device and based on one or more playlists for the content provided by a network, such as a content delivery network. The one or more playlists may be sent to the device of another user and may be used to access the shared content portion.
