  • Patent number: 11748566
Abstract: Embodiments are disclosed for automatically evaluating records. In the context of a method, an example embodiment includes receiving a set of text produced from a record, identifying, by block manipulation circuitry and from the set of text, one or more blocks of text that are related to a potential conclusion regarding the set of text, and extracting, by the block manipulation circuitry, the one or more blocks of text. The example method further includes concatenating, by the block manipulation circuitry, the extracted one or more blocks into a sequence of words, inputting the sequence of words into a machine learning model, and, in response to inputting the sequence of words into the machine learning model, producing, using the machine learning model, an indication of whether the potential conclusion regarding the record is supported by the sequence of words. Corresponding apparatuses and computer program products are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20220226620
Abstract: A system and method for widening a narrowed blood vessel in a patient, the system including a guidewire, a balloon catheter having an enlarging balloon, and a tubular support sleeve having at least one support balloon. The support balloon is inflated to mechanically support the advancement of the balloon catheter into a narrowed segment of the blood vessel.

  • Publication number: 20200276412
Abstract: A catheter device for lumen re-entry is provided. The catheter device includes a catheter shaft having a lumen extending from a proximal end to a distal end and an expandable member positioned at the distal end of the catheter shaft. The catheter shaft having interior walls defining a central lumen extending from a proximal end to a distal end along a longitudinal axis of the lumen. The expandable member configured to receive a fluid that selectively expands the expandable member from a first volume to a second volume, the second volume being larger than the first volume to provide a deflection surface that is oriented at an angle with respect to the longitudinal axis of the lumen. The deflection member provides a surface to angle a guidewire out of the distal opening at the tip of the catheter shaft (i.e., not a separate side-facing hole].

  • Publication number: 20070154555
Abstract: Method of preparing a clogged animal vessel, e.g. chronic total occlusion of an artery so as to be capable of crossing by a guidewire of an intraluminal device, e.g., angioplasty balloon. The method includes delivering an angiogenic agent to the occlusion site to promote angiogenesis within the occlusion to increases susceptibility to crossing.

  • Publication number: 20070014783
Abstract: The use of a collagenase containing formulation for degrading collagen within an occlusive atherosclerotic plaque in a chronic fibrotic occlusion, chronically occluded animal tube or cavity. A medical-related apparatus is provided comprising a medical-related device having provided thereto a therapeutic amount of a collagen degrading composition comprising a proteiolytic enzyme containing formulation. A method is provided for treating chronically occluded animal tubes and cavities by administering a therapeutic effective amount of a proteolytic enzyme-containing formulation adjacent to an occluding atherosclerotic plaque, waiting for a pre-angioplasty waiting period, followed by crossing the plaque with an angioplasty guide wire.
