  • Patent number: 9279420
Abstract: The present application discloses a natural gas compressor, a natural gas compressor assembly, a system for compressing natural gas, and a method of compressing natural gas. In certain embodiments, the natural gas compressor comprises a housing, a plurality of cylinder piston assemblies disposed within the housing, and a drive system for moving the pistons of the cylinder piston assemblies to compress natural gas within the cylinders of the assemblies. Each cylinder piston assembly comprises a piston for compressing natural gas within a cylinder of the assembly. The plurality of cylinder piston assemblies are fluidly connected in sequence such that each assembly forms a compression stage of the compressor.

  • Patent number: 9016262
Abstract: A connector device and method of converting an engine to operate using an alternative fuel is disclosed. In one embodiment, the connector device comprises an outlet portion, a first injector portion, and a second injector portion. The outlet portion is configured to mate with a fuel injector opening of the engine. The outlet portion comprises an outlet channel in fluid communication with a combustion chamber of the engine when the connector device is installed in the fuel injector opening. The first injector portion is configured to receive a first fuel injector and comprises a first injector opening and a first injector channel. The second injector portion is configured to receive a second fuel injector and comprises a second injector opening and a second injector channel. The second injector channel is curved to provide a laminar flow of fuel through the second injector channel.

  • Publication number: 20140102415
Abstract: The present application discloses an engine, a fuel system for an engine, and a method of installing the fuel system and converting an engine to operate using a second fuel. In one exemplary embodiment, the fuel system comprises at least one fuel rail for the second fuel, at least one connector attached to the fuel rail and configured to fluidly connect the fuel rail to a second fuel injector, and at least one fuel injector adapter configured to receive a discharge end of the second fuel injector and position the discharge end in fluid communication with at least one of an intake port and a combustion chamber of the engine. The fuel system is configured such that the engine operates using the second fuel without removal or use of the original fuel rails and original fuel injectors.

  • Publication number: 20130042836
Abstract: The present application discloses an engine configured to selectively operate using a first fuel and a second fuel and adapter devices and methods for converting an engine to operate using a second fuel. In certain embodiments, the adapter device comprises a body member configured to be installed between an upper intake manifold and a lower intake manifold of an engine. A plurality of intake channels and fuel injector ports are formed in the body member. The body member is configured such that the intake channels are substantially aligned with the corresponding intake openings of the upper and lower intake manifolds when the body member is installed between the upper and lower intake manifolds. Each fuel injector port extends from a sidewall of the body member to at least one intake channel and is configured to receive a fuel injector for emitting a second fuel into the intake channel.
