  • Patent number: 12237617
Abstract: A connection system includes a first connector and a second connector configured for establishing one or more electrical connections through a drape. The first connector can include an alignment protrusion and a first piercing element having one or more electrical contacts configured to pierce the drape. The second connector can include an alignment notch, a channel, and a first receptacle configured to receive the first piercing element when inserted therein. The alignment notch can be configured to accept the alignment protrusion when the first connector is aligned with the second connector then disposed over the second connector. The channel can be configured to allow the alignment protrusion to slide along a length of the second connector. • Patent number: 10413700
Abstract: A procedure kit that removably retains components to be used during a medical procedure, such as the insertion of a catheter into a patient, is disclosed. The procedure kit is securable to a surface or structure such that the kit is positioned as desired by the clinician, thus minimizing chances that the kit will fall to the ground or undesirably move. In one embodiment, the procedure kit comprises a body defining a plurality of pockets that are sized to removably receive therein components for use in the medical procedure, an openable flap that covers at least a portion of the pockets; and an adhesive portion included on a portion of the body to enable the procedure kit to be secured to a structure or surface proximate to the patient, such as the sterile drape covering the patient.

  • Publication number: 20190231172
Abstract: Disclosed herein are connection systems for establishing electrical connections across a sterile field. An example connection system includes a sensor connector, a probe connector, and a tether having a first end connected to the sensor connector and a second end connected to the probe connector. The sensor connector includes a piercing element. The piercing element is configured to pierce a sterile side of a drape and establish a first electrical connection with a receptacle of a sensor when the piercing element is inserted into the receptacle. The probe connector includes a probe-connecting means configured for a user to establish a second electrical connection between an electrical contact of the probe connector and a wire probe. The tether is configured to convey electrical signals between the sensor connector and the probe connector. Also disclosed herein are methods of connection systems for establishing electrical connections across a sterile field.

  • Patent number: 9060790
Abstract: A Tibiotalar Arthrodesis Guide (TAG) used for fusion of the talus to the tibia is comprised of several basic components. The main component is a straight guide post upon which other components can slide. A curved arm is featured at the end of the straight guide post, featuring points at the ends which serve as indicators of the pins' exit sites based upon the lines of action of the parallel pins. The parallel guide cylinders are positioned on a movable arm which translates superiorly and inferiorly on the guide post of the handle, allowing a surgeon to adjust the device for varying ankle sizes. A “home-run” pin guide cylinder for a home-run guide pin is oriented superiorly and at an angle to the parallel guide cylinders. Using a similar concept as the parallel guide cylinders, the “home-run” guide is also attached to a movable arm that can translate inferiorly and superiorly along the main guide post.
