  • Patent number: 10660273
Abstract: The subject application provides a windrow pickup header including an improved windrow hold down device. The windrow hold down device includes a channel member extending across a width of a windrow pickup header chassis, a unitary retention plate carried by the channel member, a first plurality of tines secured to the channel member by the unitary retention plate, and a second plurality of tines pivotably secured to the channel member and selectively engageable with the unitary retention plate to place the second plurality of tines in a non-pivoting stowed position. The unitary retention plate combines multiple tine retention functions into a single part thereby reducing materials costs as well as the labor required to assemble the windrow hold down device.

  • Patent number: 10314233
Abstract: A row unit for a header of an agricultural harvester is provided that includes a frame and two spaced apart stripping plates. The row unit further includes a first stalk roll mounted to the frame adjacent the first stripping plate and a second stalk roll mounted to the frame adjacent the second stripping plate. The first stalk roll includes a primary helical flight having a front end that starts at a front edge of the first stalk roll and the second stalk roll includes a secondary helical flight having a front end that starts at a position axially spaced from a front edge of the second stalk roll.

  • Patent number: 10021832
Abstract: A corn header for a combine harvester capable of lifting stalks that have fallen sideways in a row is provided. The corn header includes a frame, a plurality of row units and a plurality of row dividers for guiding crop plants toward the row units. The frame is mounted to a forward end of the combine harvester. The plurality of row units extends forward from the frame. Each row divider is connected to and extends forward of at least one row unit, and includes a conveyor connected to a lateral side of the row divider for the purpose of lifting and propelling crop plants into the corn header. In a preferred embodiment, the conveyor is an auger including a helical flight having a non-circular profile or a plurality of notches to increase its ability to lift and propel crop plants into the corn header.

  • Patent number: 9814181
Abstract: A header of an agricultural harvester for the transport of a flow of crop from a header to a combine feeder house. The header includes a frame having a floor, a conveyor assembly, and a drive mechanism. The conveyor assembly is mounted above the floor to urge a flow of crop material during harvesting operations, and the drive mechanism operatively connects to the conveyor assembly to drive movement of the conveyor assembly. The drive mechanism includes a drive motor mounted to the frame beneath the floor about a medial section of the header.

  • Patent number: 9642307
Abstract: A header end hood mount for a harvester configured to allow an end hood on a corn header to pivot about a mounting assembly. The mounting assembly is connected to the frame for mounting the hood thereon and includes a mounting bracket affixed to the frame to allow the hood to pivot between a first position covering the row unit and a second position spaced outwardly and upwardly from the first position to provide improved access to a row unit covered by an end hood during normal operation. The header end hood mount is designed to provide a pivoting motion of the hood.
