  • Patent number: 12097165
Abstract: A foot for a crutch has a ground contact portion with a variable camber. The camber angle changes from at least one of a front edge or rear edge of the variable camber, to a maximum camber. In embodiments, the camber increases from the at least one of the front edge or rear edge to the maximum camber region, and then decreases to the other of the front edge or the rear edge. In embodiments, a foot can have two regions of different cambers laterally disposed from each other such that only one of the two regions contacts the ground during a step at any given time.

  • Publication number: 20200222267
Abstract: A crutch for assisting a user to walk includes a leg platform configured to support a portion of a leg of the user, and a ground contact having a weight supporting medial contact region that is disposed higher than a weight supporting lateral contact region. An optional strap on the leg platform can be used to maintain the leg in a forward position. An optional thigh saddle can be used to help prevent lateral movement of the user's upper thigh with respect to the crutch. An optional front facing handle can assist new users in learning to use the crutch.

  • Publication number: 20050242658
Abstract: The present disclosure includes a bicycle wheel having a hub, a plurality of spokes, and a rim. The spokes are connected to the hub, each spoke having two ends and a major axis. The ends of each spoke are substantially aligned with the major axis of such spoke. The rim provides a plurality of fixed spoke mounts secured to the spokes. The spoke mounts provide stress grading, in one preferred embodiment by decreasing in section as they extend away from the main body of the rim toward the hub. The spoke mounts are formed integrally with the rim and avoid the use of holes through the wall of the rim that seats the tube. Spoke adjustment mechanisms for straight spokes attached to such spoke mounts are also provided. The disclosure also includes a method of constructing a wheel.
