  • Patent number: 12225360
Abstract: An audio processor and method of audio processing for an amplifier system is described. The audio processor may receive an audio signal and adapt the audio signal generating a time varying offset. The time varying offset may be combined with the audio signal resulting in a shifted the audio signal level. The processed audio signal may also be clipped to remove the negative samples values. The processed signal may be used to drive an amplifier designed to only accept positive (or negative) signals such as a class C amplifier.

Date of Patent: February 11, 2025
    Assignee: NXP B.V.

  • Patent number: 10779086
Abstract: An audio processor for a multi voice coil acoustic transducer is described. The audio processor may receive or generate an audio signal. The audio signal may have one or more phase shifts applied. The audio signal may be used to drive a first coil of a dual voice coil acoustic transducer. The phase-shifted audio signals may drive the other coils of a multi voice-coil acoustic transducer. The phase shift is selected so that the phase difference between the audio signal driving each voice coil may result in destructive interference in the multi voice-coil loudspeaker resulting in reduced or no acoustic output due to the audio signal.

  • Publication number: 20190143904
Abstract: A vehicle audio presentation controller configured to receive first audio at a first audio input and second audio at a second audio input, the controller configured to perform the following: based on said first audio and said second audio for presentation in a vehicle and context information associated with said first audio; provide for audible presentation of said first audio and said second audio at the same time with an audio-modifying-effect-profile of a plurality of different predetermined audio-modifying-effect-profiles selected at least based on the context information, the audio-modifying-effect-profile comprising a plurality of audio-modifying effects at least including a first and a second audio-modifying effect, the first audio-modifying effect applied to the first audio and the second audio-modifying effect applied to the second audio.

  • Patent number: 10212531
Abstract: A method and apparatus of audio processing is described. An audio processor may receive a multi-channel audio signal. In a first mode of operation, an audio processor may output a first audio signal on a first multi-channel audio output and a second audio signal on a second multi-channel audio output. In a second mode of operation, the audio processor may output a third audio signal on the first multi-channel audio output and a sub-woofer audio signal on at least one channel of the second multi-channel output.

  • Patent number: 9485576
Abstract: A loudspeaker drive circuit comprises an input for receiving an audio signal and a signal processor for processing the audio signal before application to the loudspeaker. The signal processor processes the audio signal to derive a loudspeaker drive signal which results in the loudspeaker membrane reaching its maximum displacement in both directions of diaphragm displacement.

  • Publication number: 20110280415
Abstract: Apparatus for generating a first acoustic signal and simultaneously sensing a second acoustic signal. The apparatus comprises: an input (15) for receiving a first electrical signal from a signal source; a loudspeaker terminal, directly or indirectly connected to the input (15), for connection to a loudspeaker (30) for generating the first acoustic signal in response to the first electrical signal and for generating a second electrical signal in response to the second acoustic signal; and an output (35), for outputting the second electrical signal. The loudspeaker terminal is connected to the output (35) via isolation means (25) comprising a first filter which is adapted to suppress a signal component related to the first electrical signal while simultaneously passing the second electrical signal to the output (35).
